Sounds like it is time to send in drones and wipe out known cartels. Then, line our border with the military. It's also time to hold the Mexican government accountable and start making them pay. Maybe even a ground invasion and seek out cartels. The bad things they do to Mexicans AND Americans will stop.

that's the problem...i don't think the american people have the stomach (or the coin) for another war...granted, it would FINALLY be for something that we can ALL agree is right....but we're all war-ed out....

besides, it would never happen....we're far too buddy-buddy with mexico (politically and economically) to ever launch any military action against them...

and hell, where would it stop? if we invaded mexico, to take out the cartels, we'd need to continue down through central america, and into south america, in order to root the bastards out completely....we'd be at it forever.

if anything, they'd do it under the banner of "the war on drugs", and then they woudln't actually do anything, it'd be for-show military manuvers, no bid, cost-plus contracts to large corporations, at our expense, and we'd be no safer...unless we had a president who was genuine, truthful, and had the ability to say "screw it", and REALLY go in there, to handle business....

I understand the plight, I really do, but how are you going to keep the flies out if you stand there with the door open? Do what is done in Mexico, require proper papers and credentials in order to receive government benefits. Require proof they are citizens or properly visa'd immigrants in order to have jobs. It might feel more "John Wayne" to stand at the border with machine guns and mow down anyone seen who comes near the line but taking away incentives to cross over the line will be more effective and efficient in the long run.

I think, though, you have a faction in government that really does not want to keep them out and would prefer they enter without credentials so that they can be more easily manipulated in the workplace and without recourse to complain for fear of being thrown out or 'disappeared.' I think you have another problem in government to fix before you can fix your immigrations problem. Your politicians gain a lot of popularity with you by promising to fix a problem they have gotten you all riled up over, whether they actually do anything about it or not. And to gain your admiration and you vote all they have to do is keep the heat turned up and keep making empty promises. They gain nothing by fixing it for you.

take away the low-wage jobs, and that might effect some of them....but the others will just turn to crime...

delusional about illegals.

I have been dealing with them for years.

Many have no idea about property rights here in the US and will walk onto your property and steal anything not locked down.
and sometime even bring bolt cutters to take what is locked up.

Many illegals will send in there kids to steal property just because they know the cops will do nothing to the kids.

And unlike meth heads that you can beat the C**p out of or shoot the illegal are a protected class of criminal by the liberals.

yeah, because if you shoot one, you'll be painted as a racist, who murdered a poor, defenseless man, just looking for a better life...

they'll ignore that he was stealing, or acknowledge it, and try to justify, or rationalize it.....

then it becomes national news, and your life gets ruined...

hypothetical scenario;

somehow a deal is reached in congress.

-borders will be secured/efforts to root-out illegal immigrants living in the US will be expanded, and agencies given more power to persue/enforce the law.
-criminals will be deported to foreign jails,
-equipment/personell/other resources are given to border-control and customs agencies in order to better enforce the law

However; this comes with a catch.

-the ATF is given authority to more heavily investigate/audit gun-dealers suspected of breaking the law..
-private sales are to be done in a special office at the secretary of state,

If you do not accept this compromise you get nothing, that is the final thing; the Democratic Congressmen, representing left-wing districts, are willing to provide the authority to the various agencies to solve your(percieved issue based on acidotal evidence) on the condition that various agencies are provided the authority to solve their (percieved issue based on acidotal evidence).

this means sacrifice on both sides.. in this hypothetical scenario the democrats are entirely willing to give up on immigration as an issue, if you allow them to tighten gun-control/gun-law-enforcement.

why do I compare these two issues, what do agencies that are charged with gun-control and immigration have in common?

partisan restrictions/regulations on conduct that make these agencies ineffective at actually doing their jobs.

keep in mind I don't mean any new laws passed, i simply mean that various laws, or acts, or whatever are ammended so agancies can do their jobs.

your hypothetical is fairly awful....for a few reasons....

firstly, because it would never happen...

secondly, because nobody would agree to those terms....i mean, i, personally, would agree to the audit thing...if someone's breaking the law, and either selling to prohibited persons, or not doing the proper checks, and selling to whoever, i want them punished. i wouldn't agree with the secretary of state thing though, because honestly, what the hell does the state department have to do with gun sales? logically, it should be done at a location like an FFL dealer, or through the county sheriff's office... realistically, there shouldn't be any legislation with respect to the 2nd amendment, because it's a right, protected by the constitution, but because we've done a real fine job of not executing violent offenders, and not locking away seriously broken-minded people, we need to have SOME kind of rules, to keep these people from not having guns.

and lastly, because i don't what the hell "acidotal evidence" is..

i still think we should bring home ALL of our military assets, put them to work building a wall along the southern border, and then turn over manning of the wall, and paroling of the border to them (the military) i think we'd be a fair bit safer for it..

derp I think I meant to say "ancedotal evidence".. typo I guess.

but my point more or less is that if you want to have any serious discussions on tightening illegal immigration, its probably best to do it in such a way that it is "party-platform neutral" as in it solves issues on both party's agenda's.

it's just convientent to give ICE and BATF (along with other agencies) the ability to do their jobs without partisan roadblocks in the form of regulation, a lack of funding for key tasks, a lack of leadership, interference by state and local governments.

the convience comes because there are similar problems faced by either side.

by secretary of state's office I meant DMV btw... but I like your idea too.

Read what Sheriff Spence has to say..

'We're getting overrun and the danger is increasing... we need to open our eyes': Sheriff leading probe into murder of Border Patrol agent claims armed illegal immigrants in military fatigues have been spotted on Texas ranches

Sheriff Larry Spence of Willacy County spoke to MailOnline after murder of off-duty Border Patrol Agent Javier Vega Jr. who was allegedly gunned down by two illegal immigrants who had been deported six times
Sheriff Spence said ranchers had reported illegal immigrants walking through the brush in single file, armed with rifles in military fatigues
Spence said he used to not show a weapon but now he has 'two or maybe three' because of the increasing 'criminal element'
He added: 'It’s not like it was years ago when people were just looking for a job or something to eat'
MailOnline also spoke to the woman who reported Javier's alleged killers to the police. She now fears she could be killed by the cartels

no, it still applies, because he's still calling someone out, or accusing them of doing something that he, himself, has done as well...

it works either way....

double-derp, lol.....it's "anecdotal". mate, get a spell-checker.

but my point more or less is that if you want to have any serious discussions on tightening illegal immigration, its probably best to do it in such a way that it is "party-platform neutral" as in it solves issues on both party's agenda's.

yes, but it creates more problems....what you suggested was that the american people, surrender to the "liberal" "socialist" "democrats", and trade away little pieces of constitutionally-protected rights, so that they'll stop blocking attempts to deal with illegal immigration, when DHS really doesn't even NEED their permission to do their job....DHS is the department of homeland security.....i don't feel any more friggin secure. it's kinda like walking around a mall, and seeing all the guards sleeping...

triple-derp...

the state, county, and municipal governments are SUPPOSED to have the lion's share of the power...that's the "the states, or the people" entities they refer to in the constitution....we're supposed to have authority over anything, not specifically enumerated to the federal government by the constitution..so no, the states aren't interfering, they're doing their goddamn job...

additionally, there are TOO MANY agencies...

the convience comes because there are similar problems faced by either side.

that statement is inaccurate at best...

in this example, illegal's are the republican's problem they wanna deal with, and guns are the democrat's problem they wanna deal with....these are not similar things.....

one is a group of foreign invaders, who is doing irreparable harm to our country, the other is a personal posession, the ownership, and carry ability of which, is protected by a constitutional amendment....not really even close to similar...

by secretary of state's office I meant DMV btw... but I like your idea too.

is it possible? in one post? OMG YES! QUAD-DERP! (i hope you understand i'm just playing with you)

what do the DMV and the state department have to do with one another?

and no...DMV probably wouldn't be the best office for this....they get extraordinarily busy as it is...layering on gun sales would be super bad...might even cause violence...

Are you brain dead, or did you even look at his thread?

He creates a thread with, and I quote "God damn racist cops, assuming the black guys are up to no good, that they are freeloading..etc . Republican love these idiots because they are making a difference.."

There, I even made bold the part that makes him a Hypocrite to make it nice and easy for you.

maybe it's just a Michigan thing, but the DMV here is officially known as the "Michigan Secretary of State",

en.wikipedia.org...

guess it varies exactly who administers what, on a state-by-state basis

Well was I wrong? I am certain a lot of republicans feel that way. Just read this thread. Lies about diseases, lies about the majority are criminals..etc.

They always bring the Mexican illegals up...yet never the other illegals..Illegal? Better if you're Irish, just one of many that get ignored.

Gee I wonder why it's only the Mexicans that are the issue...oh yeah...considered the less desirable by the right..due to skin tone.
