However a corruption-free Ukraine is not equal to an anti-Russia Ukraine.

That is not how Putin sees it. He does not care how corrupt the government is, provided it is pro-Russian.

Corruption is everywhere, including where you live.

Why Putin would change Ukraine's government due to corruption in Ukraine??

The war is not due to corruption but due to Ukraine acting as a proxy to NATO.

You say that as though corruption were a bad thing. Sometimes an efficient but corrupt government is better than an idealistic but ineffective one.

Exactly! Putin never said a word about Svoboda having seats under the corrupt Yanukovych government. Now it is one of the principal talking points of his apologists. Is it possible you are beginning to see the light? Putin did not invade Ukraine to "save" it or "protect ethnic Russians from 'Nazis.'" He invaded it to acquire territory for Russia; naval bases in Crimea, aircraft factories in "Novorossiya," and, of course, natural gas in the Black Sea.

The war is not due to corruption but due to Ukraine acting as a proxy to NATO

Absolutely wrong. Where is NATO? Where is the NATO carpet bombing? Where are the NATO tanks? You have seen the stolen cables that prove the United States did not want to admit Ukraine to NATO. This war is about the legitimate government in Kyiv defending its territory against Putin's aggression. The bad blood this war is creating is bad for the Russian people.

He didn't as his puppet was doing just fine for him, it was the people that wanted Yanukovych out as he was stealing from them to prop up his own finances and that of his close allies...just as Putin has done in Russia.

The war is not due to corruption but due to Ukraine acting as a proxy to NATO.

Yes it is, as Putin wasn't happy that his puppet was being removed for corruption and felt he needed to take Crimea for himself so he wouldn't have to pay the lease on his base there.

And how is Ukraine a proxy for NATO, when NATO is not used for offensive measures, but they are used for defensive measures?

It's amazing that you can't provide any proof that NATO is even in Ukraine much less show proof they are wanting a war with Russia.

I have replied multiple times to your assertions. This is one more try.

Poroshenko has risen in the same corrupt system as Yanukovych. It is foolish to think Poroshenko made his money honestly. Is Germany trying Poroshenko publically through media as it did for Yanukovych??

The answer is NO? Why not? Because Poroshenko is Western stooge.

You blame Putin for something for which you are not ready to blame yourself.

The answer is simple - these are leaders of Ukraine elected by Ukrainians. What choice does Putin has in that??

You are a fool writing like "Putin's puppet". Yanukovych was no Putin's puppet.

Your entire logic stinks. All powers and superpowers do business with corrupt heads of States of other countries.

How silly ...
Example here in Belgium, we used to export pears and other fruits towards Russia.
Now with the ban, the fruits are sold to Serbian 'traders' who still can buy EU goods and then re-send them towards Russia.
Embargo effectiveness : 0
Now it's serbian businessmans, with a very questionable ethic, who are making margins on the back of both belgian farmers and russian customers.

The pears will be more expensive, making the Russian people unhappy. Only people who do not like Russians think that this is a good thing.

Fruit is rather simplistic example.

The fact is that Russia can obtain most engineering goods originating in Western countries through third trading nation.

The price will be higher and there is no real embargo.

I have said it multiple times - the key is money. Russia is still getting paid for its exports.

His begging for money, weapons, and aid in Western capitals does not qualify for anything better.

Poroshenko is a shameless man.

I have not seen any begging by Putin. When did Putin ask China for money or weapons?? Give me the references.

Russia will sell its oil and gas to the parties that are favorable to it. What will you do about that??

Russia Scraps Ruble Bond Sale as Yields Jump to 5-Month High

As for weapons Russia and China have had issues with China buying weapons, reverse engineering them and then producing them locally. China was waned by Russia not to do this with the sale of advanced aircraft but its doubtful China will comply.

If Russia and china were so needy of each other then why did neither country take these steps prior to sanctions? If Russia considers its energy sector as a national security area why is the largest Russian oil conglomerate being authorized to sell up to a 49% share to the largest Chinese oil company?

Why didn't China or India support the illegal Russian annexation of Crimea? Because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, sanctions were placed on Russia. Russia has no where left to turn to except China for help. From banking, trade, oil, etc etc.

Putin is putting all of his eggs in the Chinese basket. That's obvious to almost everyone.

China will be buying up Russia like there is a fire sale. Before Putin restricted Beijing on what and how much they could buy he was fearfull of the Chinese controlling Russian markets now he has no choice. China came out a huge winner in fact even will own parts of Russian infrastructure such as trains and electrical. You know Putin had to be upset with the role reversal China's economy is 4 times the size. Not like negotiations between Stalin and Moa where Russia controlled all the cards.

Russia bans supplies of fruit and vegetables from Ukraine on fears of EU re-export

Fruit and vegetables imports from Ukraine will be banned from Wednesday for fear they may originate from the EU, Russia’s consumer health watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor has said.

Any unmarked agricultural cargo coming from Ukraine to Russia runs the risk of originating from the European Union, which violates Russian sanctions against importing EU products.

Putin has gone mad indeed.

Edit to elaborate:

Here is a chart tracking Russian food price inflation over the past four years:

Source.

Notice that the rate of increase in the price of food is already higher than in 2013, when Russia banned the importation of wine from Moldava, due to that country's developing ties to the EU. At its current rate, it will tie the 15% inflation rate of 2011 by February. As you recall, that rate was due to rampant wildfires destroying crops. This is what happened to Putin's popularity at that time:

Putins notgoing to be happy until people are staring in the streets. Maybe hes trying to do the stalin purges just without the camps. No need to starve them in camps when you can do it in there own homes.

Heres a joke on Putin told in Russia

― Have you heard, Putin ordered the government to stop the inflation.
― Well, not exactly, he ordered to have it held back...and jailed.

(just so you know the Russian word zadierzhat means both to hold back and to detain.)

Oh and one more whats the difference between Obama and Putin?

We know where Obama is all the time where Putin knows where you are. And as they say im outa here,

Time to see how Putin's brilliant economic warfare strategy is succeeding:

Based on data from Rosstat, the annual inflation rate for December 8, could grow to about 9.4%, according to Interfax. Rosstat same yesterday annual rate of inflation is not published. The leaders of growth - pork (25%), sugar (25%) and buckwheat (+ 65%). More than 15% more expensive fish and seafood. Interestingly, the eggs in annual terms fell significantly - by 9.2%. But this is hardly the only such a position of the estimated Rosstat. The rent has become more expensive in the national average of 16%. Thus the cost of a minimum set of products in November compared to October increased by 3% since the beginning of the year - by 9.8%.

But Rosstat gives averaged across the country now. And coming from the regions even more alarming news. Nizhny Novgorod management FAS reported yesterday that the potatoes in the field in November rose by almost 40%, cabbage - 32%, fish - by 42%, and buckwheat - by 74% in annual terms. Portal To samara.Ru writes about a significant increase in the next year tariffs for road transport. Forecasts a rise in prices in the near future 10-15% is no surprise.

But the sound and the promise of greater price increase. Meat producers do not rule out a rise in prices by 20-30%. A tea and coffee sellers claim that the average retail price of tea in Russia in 2015 will grow by about 20%. Began a rise in price of bread and cereals, which is especially sensitive to low-paid categories of the population.

...and of course you`re so happy that your family/friends are suffering in the Ukraine and Russia because of the economic warfare which is induced on them by The West.

No matter how The Kremlin would have reacted, this would still have been coming to them unless they bow down to the West and let them be plundered by them.

And you`re all happy about The West plundering the same countries, and having another clown like Yeltsin and its subsequent economic conditions to live in for your family and friends in the future.
