Except when they also talk about only those that have direct contact with the patient need to take the extreme precautions.
Literally saying the people only a few feet away are not in as much danger.

It's passed through body fluids. The person that has the potential to shed body fluids IS wrapped up in a condom suit. The guy that is not in a protective suit is standing about 10 feet away so is probably quite confident he will not get dribbled or pooed on by a person wrapped in a hazmat suit.

Maybe he is a doctor who is going off what we currently know to be true about how the virus is spread rather than panicking about a 'what if' scenario of the virus becoming airbourne. Even if it was, the infected person is still wrapped up.
