They tried to pass a bill up in Canada that was to help catch pedophiles but there was a bunch of terrible invasion stuff in with the bill. They tried to say that if you don't support the bill, you support pedophiles. Thankfully the bill got stopped but now who knows where they are tossing in that bad stuff amongst other bills.

well..... You don't really own, your gmail, hotmail, yahoo, aim, msn accounts. It's a free service provided by the website on the premise that you view the adds, articles, etc they host.

You borrow the account, it's not "Yours," and as long as that service remains free and you have agreed to their terms(which you do by owning the account/signing up) you have a pretty minimal right to privacy from the provider. Sure they may off you a level of privacy from other users, but from the provider all content exchanged or stored with in is equally theirs as much as it is yours.

I dont think it will stop the serious guys at all!

I sent some documents recently to a friend. As they contained a lot of his personal info, and knowing google scan everything, I zipped them up with a long password. When I clicked Send I go a message that said "The zip file is password protected, if you continue it cannot be scanned for viruses".
If they cant open a simple zip file how will it catch the kiddy fidlers?

Seems to me this isn't aimed at the fildlers!

if youre using gmail, what ever gave you the impression that you had ANY privacy?

Stomping your rights? Since when was google EVER going to not use you as a product.

good grief.. its the equivalent of sticking a note on a public notice board and then complaining when the staff at the mall read your note.

GOOGLE is not your private company. Use your ISP if you want better email, and even they have no obligation to ensure your email is private.

nothing has changed, except peoples expectation that public places are private.

why is anyone surprised at any of this .. there is no privacy on the internet .. if they want it, they'll gain access to your @#%$# one way or another .. if you have something you don't want anyone knowing about, don't put on here .. don't complain if you do and someone gains access to it .. I mean come on lol

So what does this mean exactly?
I can set up an anonymous account and spam hundreds of people with CP And have them all arrested?

This is the first that went through my mind.

Is it the people who send or the people that receive such pics.

If i got sent somthing like an illegal image would i just be arrested and carted off to the jail house? I cant stop whats sent to me, also my google email was for the sole purpose of getting the extra features Chrome has to offer, i dont even read the emails on that account - there could be some nasty spam on there right now and id have no idea.

I hope theres some fairness and logic to all this.

Now i am all for getting the scum of the scum caught.
Do you feel high in Moral or Rambo after reading that article? why dont you feel high in Moral for arresting government officials and party members, etc for abusing both Girls and Boys?

I am not defending Paedophile however this way isn't a great way as it only arrest those innocent people and hurt those families that have family pictures and are sharing through by emails.

So if you have a kid and want take pictures of either you or him/her in semi nude images chances you are probably going to get caught.

I guess they will target drawings to.

Google is now a officially government ran firm.

Yup i remember that bill and the comments made by Vices i think was he? he said.
if you don't support the bill, you support pedophiles. But after a month he read the contents of the bill and was surprised by what was actually in it.

I assume that bill is already dead.

Like the "war on drugs" do you go after the ones using or after the ones producing?

Even after they realized that the war on drugs was a faulire they legalized it. Even if you have to burn the entire South American drug planting industries.

They would just keep on growing no matter whose producing it or which laws are passed, the underground businesses in terms of drugs, the laws on drugs are like sanctions as they dont have an impact on those producing it.

Sure but it goes back to the fundamental question -

Does heavy enforcement on the users able to make a difference or does going after the production / distribution make the difference?

Legalization is only in a few states and only deals with Marijuana. Other drugs are still covered under the CSA. Secondly, those states are in violation of Federal Law.

Coming back around I dont see legalization of child porn anytime soon. Do you concentrate resources on locating and arresting / charging those who seek out the material or do you focus resources into the area of stopping the creation in the first place?

Japan changed its mentality on the topic..

Japan changed its mentality on the topic..

The reason because changed its mentality on the topic was mainly because America still occupies the country and controls there government i had heard some Japaneses say and seen an video where that they dont have an government of there own that fights for the well being of all Japanese.

But rather the government itself bows down to any wishes for what either the NGOs in the country say or for whatever the occupier says.

After the earthquake had happened in Japan the majority of the Japaneses are agaisnt having more nuclear power plants near the oceans or anywhere near on the mainland, what was Japaneses government in response to this?

We Are Going To Build More

They did even clean up the nuclear toxin waste in fukushima yet? the answer is no. Whats worse the water in the areas around fukushima will get populated even further and this wont be good for either of us.

Same thing on Copyright i am sure you remember that battle with the copyright one that happened in 2010 i think?
Now staying on Topic.

Correction Xcathdra here's some food for thought.

Why are Government, state, local police always targeting the middle people as in us on arresting those creeps but they arent targeting government, cooperate, mafia, underground officials and members whom are doing alot more then just production / distribution.

In Europe it goes something like this.

Trafficking/production/distribution
vice verse in some cases

The Underground businesses World law has no effects on this businesses.
Trafficking/slavery/prostitution/trade/No witness.

Each night a boy or girl in some cases would be sold by a buyer for which propose they decide and the actual laws that were and are passed on this underground businesses has no effects no matter how many times they change the laws.

i'm one.

I assume - haven't been involved with their project - that Google scans the 'Sent' folders, not the 'Received' folders.

Personally, I hope that they round up every single pedophile out there and lock them up and throw away the key.
I don't care how they catch them.

So here we go again: It all begins with "protecting the children". Since child abuse is a raw issue for most, we have never really opposed "any means" to catch the predators. It began right at the start of the Internet in the 90's already. We seem to have forgotten many cases where Photo-Labs reported parents for the "baby in the bathtub" pictures. And naturally this "excuse" to go after pedos was used to develop the snooping softwares.
Sure all will now applaud this move by Google, but what is next? My email discussing reform to the voting act? My email discussing civil disobedience? Just fill in the "BLANK" of what ever you correspond about and you see that "protecting the children" is just an excuse to sniff on us. Don't forget, one of the most efficient dictatorships of all times, the 3rd Reich, - used the "... but for the good of the children..." quite well.
So whats out what you are wishing for.

Hmmmm I dunno thie time... Well you see, they do what you describe already! They have been scanning your emails for the longest time... So... If catching pedos was an excuse to lead to more snooping it doesn't make sense... As they snoop on everything already!

So, you would not mind it much either if the State put up a camera in every room of your house (and you'd have to pay for it yourself, of course) because it would help them to detect criminal activities, right?

Now, maybe you agree that putting a camera up is a bit over the top. But is it? As a control it is very usable and we could build in many many technical measures to protect your privacy. We could even pass laws that forbid mis-use, and of course all criminals and hackers adhere to the law. And though there may not be a need for it to protect society from child molesters, maybe we should put up these cameras afer all if the situation is more aggravating: the State might want to seek out TERRORISTS!

Sure enough you would not even DARE being against that - maybe you are a terrorist yourself if you are, right! So you do now see the need for these camera's don't you?

But the final argument in favour of the camera's are not catching child-molestors or terrorists - no, there is a Far Bigger Evil which has to be fought: you might be - a Democrat even! (shivers).

I'd say: hang'em! Camera's everywhere! Scan all files! Privacy is for criminals! Let's be afraid, very afraid!

Knowing what I know about what a pedophile can do to a young mind,
yep.

Let them search them out, put the fear of being caught in them, and smoke them out of the holes they hide in.

I understand people worrying about privacy, and the right to it, but this is something I am all for.

Doesn't matter to me if people agree or not.
I am a survivor of sexual abuse, and I know what it does and how it destroys people.

I want no safe place for those who would destroy a child's mind and soul.

Period.
