Passenger videoing fighter jet

and on the ground video. *if you watch the video on large screen at 19 secs you can see some object fall straight down from the sky near the fighter jet.

Anybody else seen the footage from the passenger on the flight that the BBC are showing.
As they film the fighter there appears to be a small flash and a streak coming from the fighter.

.... Found the clip here.

14:23: Greater Manchester Police has confirmed a passenger was taken off the plane by officers.

Qatar Airways has released a statement confirming there were 265 passengers and 13 crew on board the plane.
They say the crew had received a threat about a possible device on board and alerted the relevant authorities.
The statement says: "As this is now a police investigation we cannot comment further at this time."

As of 14:26 some flights are still being diverted to Liverpool

There is something like that on the ground video too, maybe a tiny meteorite came by just to add to it all.
This is the man being escorted off the plane,

I've seen that yes..I assumed it was sunlight reflecting off the plane —just watching again though and I think it's a reflection on the plane window he's filming through?

Man arrested
14:30: BREAKING NEWS A man pulled from the QR23 flight at Manchester Airport has been arrested on suspicion of making a hoax bomb threat, a spokesman for Greater Manchester Police says

Incoming flights seem back to normal as well

Crazy fools who make bomb threats on planes should be banned from flying for life IMO.
And they should be sent the bill for the cost of the fuel of any military jets scrambled.

As this is the UK though, the idiot will probably be given a week or two communtiy service and a police caution.

I seriously doubt that.

The planes have landed in the last few minutes, according to NATS - the air traffic management service.

More to come.

This is breaking at the mo ... waiting for more info and will post as it becomes known.

*edit*

It now says on the BBC web site that a possible device on the plane was involved.

Anyone else find this has similarities to an incident that happened at Toronto's Pearson airport last week ? Almost the same M.O and the plane was escorted by two f18's I believe

That's glare off the airliner's window when the anti-collision light on the Tiffy blinks.

I find it hard to fathom that anyone would blithely hand a note to the crew that there was a device onboard and not expect major consequences baffling. Also he appears to have given up without the slightest struggle. I think this was a UK security operation designed to test responses. It sure is strange.

What is the drinks policy on Qatari airways?

Could have been a False Flag drill. The same kind that the FBI do all the time.

I suppose we will have to wait and see which plane gets escorted next..I would not be at all surprised if this was to happen again at another airport

I suspect a steward passed it. The pilot is the "boss" in the air, so anything like that would be for his/her attention.

Anyhow, sounds like a drunk idiot has been a drunk idiot. No conspiracy here folks.

Wasn't the Toronto guy a raving drunk as opposed to a note-passer.

Also, this flight originated in the middle east as opposed to Toronto. Bit of a difference there.
