Lot's of statistics point to high Democrat voting areas are also high crime areas and many are high poverty areas.

The highest crime rates are in cities with Democrat leadership.

Even many "Red States" (Republican, not old Communist style "Red") have condensed Democrat voting areas that are high crime/poverty as well.

Hard to figure because those areas have not gotten any better in decades.

Very perplexing.

It must be a psychological phenomenon or something ?

How about Your voting area (precinct, ward, etc.) ??

Are you seeing any voting preferences vs. crime/poverty ??

Some districts might be right down to individual polling places/neighborhoods.

How widespread is this voting behavior ?

Crime rates in liberal cities shockingly higher than in conservative cities

Violent Crime and Murder in America

Poor States Are Conservative; Rich States Are Liberal. Why, and Where?

Pro-Democrat group says 9 of the 10 poorest states are Republican

Ultimately, each measure of the poorest states has its drawbacks. But the supplemental poverty measure offers a reason to temper the evidence from traditional measures that demonstrate the statement to be True. For that reason, we rule the "9 in 10" claim Mostly True.

It’s a Fact: Republican Run Red States Have America’s Highest Poverty Rates

Many more links out there...a lot from non biased sites. Yours on the other hand are all biased.

Is this just a troll thread to garner stars, flags or to cause bickering?

Good question. Why would poor people vote for and support those pushing the corporate agenda in either party is a better one.

The better people in these areas are the only ones that vote. Think about it, they want the democrats to keep the police funded and the food stamps coming in so they don't starve. Most criminals and gang members don't vote. Neither do the people on drugs.

So this will show a higher rate of democratic votes. There are a lot of good people in these areas, but we never hear about them. We hear about all the criminals and their actions. Most of these good people are just trying to survive, but they are stuck in a situation that they can't get out of.

From a psychological perspective it is because in high poverty areas there are statistically very few intact families.
They are lacking fathers.

The Democratic party sells itself as the party that takes care of the poor.

They are parental in their approach, from telling people what to eat, what to drink; promoting the "daddy state" which pays Momma's bills and feeds the family through welfare and food stamps.

The people in high poverty areas are hungry for a strong parental figure. The government, Democrat style, presents itself as a strong parental figure.

Your children may not have more than X calories for lunch.
You may not drink more than 16oz of cola at a time.
You may not have bake sales because your children lack self control.

I will take care of your rent.
I will take care of your healthcare and make the rest of American pay for your upkeep.
I will give you spending money.
I will give you food.
You only need to give me your affection and loyalty in return.

Think about the Democratic Party platform, it is a "Father Knows Best" platform, or a Knight in Shining Armour platform.

Absolutely correct above. But you could also say that Democrats are more likely to "even-out the playing field" which basically correct also.

Hard to say -- all politics is a type of organized crime, mostly.

This is a chicken or the egg argument.
Are they poor because they vote democrat or are they voting democrat because they are poor?

Democrat areas and states seem to pander to the welfare mentality along with their big push for big government, etc, etc. When those programs begin to fail they are also stymied by political correctness which seems to prevent them from resolving the problems.

Socialism may sometimes has some successes but combined with democrat philosophy I believe it's always a sure recipe for a total fail.

People have accepted the mental conditioning. Very hard to come back from the "I can get that for free" mentality. There's always violence associated with that.

Just remember: when everything is against the law ... or, when nothing is against the law ... there is no law.

But the "cracked" egg is the real question.

As crime and poverty continue to increase, why keep voting Democrat ?

Democrats keep claiming they are "helping" people and fighting crime at the same time.

The results are backwards.

As noted in the OP,

Many "Red" States have compartmentalized, condensed Democrat voting areas that have high crime/poverty.

Do some self-checking and find a high crime area in a Red State and then find those local vote results.

It's surprising.

Yeah one egg thinks it's going to become a big rooster. And the other egg thinks it's going to be scrambled.

Now I have to figure out who the chicken in all this is.

Well I am in one of the screwed up voting districts.

Seems like a good reason to do away with gerrymandering as it skews any such survey.

Your under the assumption that they blame democrats for their problems. The democrats keep giving them more free stuff like phones and they see republicans taking that away. Why would they vote against free stuff?

Politicians don't legislate to help the people they represent.

Politicians legislate so that they can get voted in again and continue the process.

This was a study in 2008. I doubt anything has actually changed.

I wonder if this holds true to voting districts as well. . . . .
