Oh Yeah and wipe out %90 of the world population.

Do we, the surviving 10% get to divvy up the money from the rest?
That'd be cool.
I call Kauai. I've got dibs!

i live in the pensacola area, after ivan i was stuck in all the traffic one day after the storm listening to the radio. there was a guy was being interviewed he was telling them about his sister in law who had just moved down from new york.

she said the storm scared her so bad she was going to move to kansas.

It would be nice to hear from someone in the area, but, if they are in the process of evacuating, I don't think their will be too many of them taking the time to post to ATS. It would be nice though . . . perhaps some streaming video of the mass looting and carnage for which humanity is so notorious.

That's the great thing about ATS! If Yellowstone ever did get evacuated because it was about to blow up, you can bet your bottom dollar that at least a few ATS'ers effected by the evac. would be posting threads/vids/pics. With the internet now being available on your cellphone and tools like talk-to-text, posting a new thread with a fresh video or a couple pics and the line "HOLY $&!% IT'S HAPPENING!" only takes a minute or two.

I would also wager that in the event of a real eruption from Yellowstone, ATS would be full of skeptics picking apart the videos and any related material in full force...no matter how credible the account was!

That's hilarious.

I have an aunt who lives in earthquake central bay area who is terrified to come to Kansas in the summer because of tornados.

Well, how about some of our members that live near Yellowstone tell us how 'evacuated' the Park really is.

I live about 90 miles (as the crow flies) from the edge of the caldera and not a peep about evacuations.

Monthly update for earthquake & volcanic activity,
for Yellowstone:

volcanoes.usgs.gov...

Not likely that there would be full disclosure though either!!!

WOQ

Here's a link for Volcano Notification Service:

Why am I skeptical???

I live about 85 miles as the crow flies from Jellystone. I find all these reports quite amusing. There have always been snake oil salesmen. They just use youtube nowadays. a reply to: ChaosComplex

The topic is back! Eruption in couple of weeks predicted by geologist as possibility

I will not start a new thread, with dozens of threads on Yellowstone.

www.care2.com...

Researchers like Hank who study both seismic and volcanic activity here at Yellowstone say they are fairly certain that there will be no type of volcanic eruption here in the foreseeable future. But then we asked Hank to define "foreseeable future".

"Now what do we mean by foreseeable future? I would say, you know a couple of weeks, and that's what I would say with certainty."

95% of all living things in that circle *will* die.

& probably in the first 48 hours of eruption.

Not only would a super volcano eruption be the most explosive thing humanity (pun fully intended) has ever seen, but it would last for a few months, minimum.

3 days of darkness, indeed.

I read an extensive article or 2 on it; talked about 9foot tall piles of ash across a few states. LoL

There are a few Yelowstone volcano topics, and this seems to have the most recent posts.
Here is a recent article and the 3rd picture is interesting.
It shows the ash thickness and radius.
www.dailymail.co.uk... ter-US.html
It looks pretty bad.

This is the 3rd pic from the article.

As long as the baby is burping, I won't worry. I live in the kill zone anyway. Maybe that will be the best.
