Kind of hard to show you proof of the tunnels considering that they are caved in with tons of concrete on top of it.

Hmm... Wouldn't the image of the Paveway be blurry, unless that camera had a super fast shutter. Those things fall pretty fast.

Call me when Palestinians denounce Hamas' attacks on Israeli civilians and condemn all the rockets and suicide bombings that preceded the current conflict. Oh, and when they stop electing religious fanatics that pray for the destruction of Israel and the US. ..Oh oh...and when they stop dressing in masks and throwing make-shift bombs over the wall and attempting to stone IDF soldiers on patrol. Call me when that happens. I might start feeling sympathy then.

Tell me when the Palestinians tear down Hamas, round up all the terrorists and bombers, and apologize for the decades of death THEY DECIDED to allow in their name. Then...and only then, should Israel stop. The only reason they haven't already wiped them out is world opinion...and maybe some sympathy.

Just because a country has no explicit government doesn't mean the native people of land have no rights to live there!
Thats the same mentality the European settlers had against the Natives in North America.
They were there for thousands of years living on the land in peace and harmony. Suddenly a settler comes a long and claims their ancestral homeland and boots them off it into smaller and smaller settlements.... There is not humanity in that behaviour at all, it just creates hostility.

OH man. Peace and harmony? No indian tribes fought with other indian tribes constantly. It has also been found they themselves stole the land from another indeginious people according to archaological evidence.

ALso are you forgetting just recently the Israelis and palestinians were found to be linked by DNA? What about all the Jews/hebrews who were living there and had always lived there before the creation of new israel right beside those arabs? They just invited their relatives from europe to live with them. DNA does show too that almost all of them except a few have genetic heritage there as well.

So really the"palestinians" are also including the jews/hebrews. The romans didnt get them all when they left. the term palestinian also included them too under the roman renaming of Judea. They have as much a claim as anyone.

It may not be a 2000lb bomb but it if for sure of the pave way family you can tell by the fins and guidance system on the tip. I'm on my phone so I can't post pics. Its not q jdam clearly and like I said above fits to a t the pabeway family. The first few bunkerbusters were rused into desert storm and did use the cannons barrel but I'm sure T.I no favors depleated uranium and hardend steal. According to Israel they are going for underground tunnels so a bunker bomb would be just what they would use for ground penitration

The used a more expensive laser-guided bomb rather than a string of "dumb" bombs dropped randomly. Doesn't that indicate by definition the attack was not "indiscriminate"?

I hate to sound like a Debbie Downer, the conflict is terrible. But I bopped over to the Washington Post article and there are 2 photos in which the warhead is shown. In one, it shows the bomb heading straight down, the other is on a sizeable angle relative to the same building and window in the two photos. I am referring to the tall grey block building on the right hand side of each pic. Is it possible that the photo you have posted is photo-shopped or is the other one as accurate. Just curious.

Just looked at the photos from sub page on the site of photographer (link posted on page 6 by TKDRL).
There are two photos of bombs and photo of explosion far away. Unless the explosion is caused by other bomb something is not right with the trajectory and the point of the impact/explosion.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Zoom in on the picture(s) with the supposed falling bomb. In one picture, there are tires on the SIDE of the road. In the other picture with the same supposed bomb, the tires are laid out ON the road. That proves this was doctored. Those pictures were taken at different times. So unless they dropped two paveway bombs, this is not real. It's propaganda.

I should say.. something happened, probably a jet flying overhead. And the bomb in the distance might have been a target of that plane. But those pictures were taken at different times.. and that bomb was added for effect.

I guess in your books would be fine, you would not be hurt, right...

Depending where you live, but if 2 gangs fight in your hood (unfortunately it is reality to many hoods in USA) you will not have problem if they call you and tell you to get in 5 minutes because they will destroy it... No one was hurt is positive side, 30 more people not having roof on head, being hungry and not having access to medication... it is war crime...

How deep can a bomb strike?
What if these tunnels are too deep?

According to the article there are 3 types of tunnels. Smuggling tunnels leading into Egypt, defensive tunnels in Gaza & an estimated 40 offensive tunnels leading into Israel of which half have apparently been destroyed. But not by air strikes, by Israeli troops going in there and rigging them with them explosives... If thats so, what need is there for the use of airstrikes in Gaza?

a paveway, especially the big ones, are designed to dig in a few feet while exploding, they arnt "bunker busters" really but some dirt tunnels, unless they are 10 meters down (guesstimate, soil density etc) or more are certain to cave in from the shock wave - no problems at all there.

if i was in a war zone and someone had the kindness to tell me to leave because my house was going to be destroyed in 5 mins, i think i would leave.
