I need help because I have sleeping problems and this is becoming ridiculous.

When I was little I was scared with ghost stories and other paranormal stuff or little scary pranks made by my bigger brother and this got too far in to my thoughts.I also read paranormal related articles. I am scared to sleep alone in a ROOM because I think that something scary will happen(it never happens),despite the fact that I found rational explanation to some things,still can't get off this idiot thoughts.
I know that this paranormal activity occurs only in places in which there was a crime or suicide.In my house in which i live it hasn't been any kind of this thing and it wasn't any paranormal activity there and the house has over 100 years since it's built ....negattive thoughts that keeps telling me:What if it happens ?

Thanks for giving attention to this thread and I am waiting for your replies

PS: I don't trust psychologist nowadays,lots of them are anti-professional,sometimes they make the problems even worse and i don't know any good psychologist in my area

Hi Paul

It sounds like you are winding yourself up thinking about ghosts, I do the same sometimes.

Is there anything you can do to distract yourself like going for a walk or reading a book to take your mind off it until you calm down.

I don't really believe in ghosts but I think about them a lot when it's dark too. I think it's normal to feel a bit vulnerable at night, especially if you are on your own.

PS, stop torturing yourself with horror stories, you are your own worst enemy if you carry on doing this.

Try a hypnotherapist ... worked for me and any others. maybe some relaxation classes too

Look at my avatar.
See them 3, they is my cuddle buddies.
It used to be my wife, but since then we have been over run and the dogs will purposely get in between us, and have sat directly on top of us until they sink in between us so they can be next to us both.
Sorry for digressing there, just wanted to explain how much our buddies feel for us.
The real reason for pointing them out is to say, dogs are some of the best non credentialed psychologists in the world.
They never lie and always love you more than they love themselves, they also provide comfort to their people.
If you cannot get a big dog to help with the secure feeling, get a small one as they are still an excellent early warning system.
Either big or small will help ease your mind though.

Oops, I forgot to add that dogs have been said to be extra sensory and can detect what we 2 legged chumps cannot.

Very incorrect. It can be brought to an area, willingly or not.

Psychologically, it seems you are dealing with something deeper that is unresolved, this is a surface "distraction".

Just ask the spirits if they will go haunt someone you don't like so you can get some sleep.

Chances are these spirits have lived there all along and never bothered anyone. Your fear is giving you the problem it seems, not the spirits.

Think of this, religion recognizes that there are spiritual beings, both good and bad. They only say not to be listening to the bad ones, the demons.

Fear can cause you as much harm as stress.

Food choices can make it so you can't fall asleep. I sleep about six hours a night most times, but I am ready to go after six hours. Some people need more. If I sleep more I am groggy all day.

Nice dogs mate.I also heard about some kind of a therapy with dogs.They bring dogs to depressed people and they are somehow cured

The thing is for example if I hear a mouse rustling or moving during the night the first explanation that comes in my mind
involves paranormal activity.Then I am feared,after that my mind creates the rational explanation which tells me that it was just a mouse,understand ?

Yeah, but try doing what I do when I get one of those nights. My nightmares used to involve trying to organize the work for my workers the next day when I was laying in bed.

Think about something you like to do. If your into space travel, try to imagine that you are out in a ship shooting asteroids. If you are into flowers, picture yourself in a garden full of flowers, smelling them and watching the bees interact with them.

Yawn. Now I am getting sleepy, I shouldn't be doing that.

Just How much sleep are we talking? Do you dream while sleeping? What do you do before bed and last Whats really bothering you?

Have you taken the time to write down what you are feeling; no correcting just writing it all down? Lose something or has someone new stepped into the picture? Working or no job and rent's due, yesterday? Basicly this is what a Cracker would do if you went and seen one; nowadays it's 10 min's and a note to go get Happy Pills!

Yet it is due to some form of worrying, be it doom or wondering how ones going to make it through life, mostly following the next 6 months! What about Regrets, have any? Could have, should have's should be dropped now! Unless you yourself Took Another's advice.

We could go on till the sun came up tomorrow and never really know the problem unless you care to shed some Light, add some details. So you live with a Suckapus, so do I! I could not tell if the problem exist with you or the Other's. That would mean friends, family, wife, room mates or all alone. Hell! You are working or going to school, both?

Here is what I think I know, knowing how it works for me. Sleep I have no Problems with no matter How my day happened to turn out! 3-6 times a month I might not Want to sleep, something on my mind or just no need too. I do go getting in bed part, allowing whatever to cross my mind and see if somethings out of place. After 20 mins, I get up and do something, watch some porn, DOOM People! Turn on the computer or work on something if the Suckapus is sleeping!

Writing down everything that bothers you should help for the time being. Leave the words flow on said paper no matter how Silly, Stupid, Crazy or misspellings! Change Nothing! If you start to cry, laugh or need to hit something, do get a Mad Pillow Please! Don't hold it back since Now Your Expressing Ones Emotions! Should be able to sleep now so place the writings somewhere No One can find them! Just in case its a kill list, bank job or want to Rule Said World! Would hate it if say your wife, mother, girl friend should find this and Oh Boy!

Allow 2 days to pass and go grab your notes! Cross out in a Thin Line; might need what you did cross out later and put it away again. By now you should be getting insight on whats actually bothering you, maybe only a small 10% +/- if you do not Lie to yourself! Yes, your best friend is doing, or Yes, someone in your life is Playing you for a fool, or just plain Lost your Mo Jo! Face It! Many life Sucking People out in the World Today! Or could find out You are One and need to change!

How far into Tomorrow are you? Reliving said past lately? Life just tossed one a Pothole? Could be as simple as Waking Up, hearing the Inner Callings of ones being! Although on the otherside, just How Many Monsters do you have Hiding under said Bed? You created them and now they can no longer Play being Hidden from others; yet just Waiting for you to slip up!

What If I was to come over and hit you in the head? What if say ET has your name on the next Butt Probing List? What if you come to find out you Are satan's little B? What if you realise you are Jay? So what! It can only happen Today anyways! Like watching Doom Porn? Funny how not one of them can be true and say They Haven't A Clue on what to do after What If!

Hell! I could not plan any outcome anyways! Ready for Zombies, Viruses, WW3 and even hell On Earth! Well for Today anyways! What If you just stay in Today and see what it has to offer you. People ask for signs then go looking for them, yet if one is not in Today you'll never see any signs!

Last since it is required of me. Please put down the glass pipe, take 2 steps back and Walk Away! ROFLMAO

I ussually need 6-7 hours of sleep but sometimes I don't because of this ridiculous problem of mine.
