Even if it's true, it's still a pathetic number, not even 50%, which means one in every two persons they kill, is completely innocent of everything besides having the terrible misfortune of having no choice but to live in a war zone.

Pathetic. Disturbing and hellish.

The bolded is important imo. They have NO CHOICE. IF they get the "thump" from the Israelis that means, "GET OUT." Um, where are they going to live when the artillery stops?

Well it is summertime they can sleep out under the stars it will be just like camping. They already have everything else to make it feel that way no electricity, no running water and no sewers.

That's how bad it is, Israel is hoping, or flat out lying, that the number is closer to 50% rather than 77% - 80% so they don't look as bad as they do now. As the Gaza "war" continues it's only gonna get worse.

I've read 25% of the 1.8 million Gazan population is now displaced. Those numbers are only going to increase as the operations continue. Where the hell are these people going to live? Already Israel has destroyed whole blocks in the name of new buffer zones along with the everything else that has been destroyed.

Will Israel flip the bill and pay for reconstruction in Gaza or are these people going to be living in UN schools, the ones that haven't already been struck by Israeli air strikes?

Gaza is one of the places on this planet you're thankful you were never born in.

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

Lets pretend for a moment that the figure of '47% were combatants' is accurate. That means 53% were not combatants. Israel just admitted to doing something very ugly.

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.

Yeah. It's not a good situation. The digital age is also showing what REALLY is happening.

Like "doesn't Israel have a right to exist?" "Shouldn't Jews be allowed a peaceful place after the holocaust?" My answer to both of those is "no" but the questions seem loaded trying to make me sound like I don't like Jews. Hard to explain.

No its not...

If israel were to give up its existence and say ok everyone gets to live in palestine and jews and aras and christians can all get along! just like the good old days! no more zionist regime, no more zionist country called israel!

What in your estimation would happen if majority of arabs decide to simply get rid of the jewish presence in the land? would the UN come in and defend the jews as they have done with the christians in mosul?

this is a fair question mate! im interested to understand what you think would happen in such a situation...

There is no evidence that something like that would happen. There are 40 thousand Jews living in Iran and they are quite happy there since they did not take the bribe money from Israel to move to Israel.

This whole "Muslims want to kill all the jews" claim is unfounded. It is Israel they want gone but all the Jews can stay. The "wipe off the map" quote was corrected as per THE GUARDIAN , to "the regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time".

Israel came in through the back door. IMO they should leave through the front and ask politely next time.

I don't care who runs the place, maybe it should be a coalition of the 3 main religions, I don't know but what we have now is not working. How about we kick everyone out. Pour concrete over the whole place and open a Six Flags amusement park.

It is called being manipulated. Israel pays students for pro Israel government propaganda.

Quite easy to see after a while. Crimes against humanity are exactly that, and Israel will not get a free pass on this.

I demand arrests and war crimes trials. Nuremburg v 2.0. Israel admitted this is a war. Justifying 53% civilian casualty rate is inhuman.

It's time.

Actually, to keep things real, there aren't over 40k Jews living in Iran presently. When I was first aware that Persian Jews existed back a few years back there was an estimated 25,000ish but as per a 2011 census there are roughly 9,000ish. When Israel declared itself a state there were about 100,000 Persian Jews living in Iran. As the years gone the numbers will most likely continue to fall. Why are they leaving? Well, Iran sucks, especially with economic sanctions but I'm sure many would love to believe it's because of the "Jew hating" Iranians that drove them away. If that were the case what's taking the Iranians so long? Iranian Jews serve in Iran's political theater. But hate exists everywhere so I'm sure Jews have been the victim of Iranian hate crimes.

We would have just as much chance at a conviction as we would against Monsanto and the harms they have caused by their brilliance. This is so rooted into our daily lives, with the money and perks our politicians took, the lies our media told etc. I see no possibility of getting a conviction inside a system against those that have the most control over that system.

The best we can hope for is STOP!... and move on. If anyone comes out in cuffs that just means that the corrupt legal and political system is still working.

40k was from WIKI. Claimed 2013.

I don"t know but you explained my point. Jews are not afraid of Muslims. Iran and Gaza just isn't 'where it's at' at the moment that's for sure. The 9,000 that are still in Iran must be pretty well rooted in a country that has no real incentive to stay. Economically speaking.

Google Grand Jury. Specifically, presentment and United States v Williams 1992. Stopping this starts with arrests. That is what the word arrest means. Check your Webster's.

Clean out the ICJ and show others how obvious these are war crimes.

Stop being helpless. The work was already done for you. Now pay attention and use the tools given.

If you are unsure of which laws, look no further than my signature for starters

I honestly don't know how to answer that because it brings up a bigger debate. If everything were on the level then I would answer it like this.. If there was a fair government in Jerusalem that protected the rights of all religions equally, then it would be in all religions best interest to stamp out such an aggressor, the same as I would expect the IDF to do if ISIL came through. That felt like it was too easy to satisfy you so hold on...

What does Israel want that you suspect will get that sort of blow back? I am under the premise that we are talking about debate with equal representation between all religions, not based on population. If it is just the 3 (I don't know how many hold that region relevant
) then there are 3 votes. If Muslims and Christians gang up on the Jews I suppose that would be a problem. I think we both know the Muslims are probably going to get the short straw. I don't know religion but maybe get the Buddhists to mediate.

Yes I think the UN should. I don't know If they would, it sounds to me like they are on a leash themselves. Palestine should have gotten a lot more UN presence that what it has received considering the circumstances. I don't know what criteria they follow though or who's version of the story they are supposed to follow...

I was just making the point that the right wing Israeli gov't loves to spout off hate saying Iran wants to kill all Jews and if that were true then why not kill the Jews already living in Iran?

Iran has the second largest Jewish population in the Middle East, second to Israel. It's so ironic it's funny.

Sorry man. I'm an anomaly. Just because I criticize Israel doesn't mean I stand with Hamas. It's just we KNOW what Hamas is doing. IDF. Well, let's wait for them to tell us. I'm sure they will.
