Pentagon Official: The Facts Are In, And Obama’s Policy Is A Direct Danger To The United States

The OP source is a misleading joke - "anonymous insider" from the Pentagon - you mean a blogger making stuff up. Then there is the grossly erroneous quotes from the ND report.

Read the report, it places the blame squarely on sequestration, Obama is not even mentioned until very nearly the end of the report.

Luckily a few members of this site still have a working brain and can remember who it was that led the U.S. into default (the Republicans), led the U.S. into an artificial debt-ceiling crisis (the Republicans) and led the U.S. into getting it's credit rating slashed (the Republicans), and obstructed Congress from doing its job from passing a budget (yet again the Republicans).

This report is only reflecting the budget cuts mandated by the sequestration. That was a fallout of all those Republican hijinks from a few years backs. As they say, what goes around comes around.

PS: The false claim this was a "Pentagon Official" speaking "anonymously" while misinterpreting the report should land this post in the hoax bin.

If everyone has calmed down, perhaps we can discuss this.

Personally, I think we could reduce our military budget by another 50% and still fight on two fronts, if we had responsible leadership.

It's not the "amount" of money being spent that is an issue. It is where and how it is being spent that is the issue.

Congress along with the president dictate spending. The facts are the facts. The US is in a dangerous place because we have a civilian leadership that does not know how to lead.

The progressives will blame Bush, congress, talk-radio, Fox News, while everyone else will blame Obama (who actually is the president. For real. No lie! He is the president!)

But what of solutions?

There is some old adage about glass houses and I know our governmental offspring are fond of throwing stones. Sheesh, and now we live in such a hostile neighborhood. Whodda thunk it?

All is not lost though. We could clean house then pull a media blitz to tell the world we've reformed. We might have to go through the motions and pretend like we mean it, leave out some cookies and milk, maybe quit pushing Aspartame and let everyone label GMO's and stuff like that. We might have to slap a few fingers in public, roll up a newpaper and bang it around shouting "Bad dog!" All that might work but I don't think we can keep playing Nazi Nanny without at least dressing her up like Heidi for awhile.

Man, I am not sure that old inner tube can be patched many more times. We may have to install a new one so we can keep riding our old favorite bike. We might be able to remain the Mountain Bike King but we would really have to try to steer clear of riding though the briar patches.

Now, do I trust our system is going to usher in the right kind of leadership to keep us on top of the heap, and respectable? Um, yeah, sure! I am right here behind you, just keeping a safe distance outside the border. Let's go for it!

We could just Pull Everyone back Home, and start fixing things here! Hold down the Fort while the infastucture in the US has an Update.

Instead of our Troops getting killed over pointless wars; let the UN do it! Then we can fix the things that might come and Bite us in the @ss later. With all that money being spent overseas, it can stay here and use it for other causes.

As for gas for said auto's, there is at least 2 cars for every person in the US alone. Stop making them and find other ways to fuel them. Surely as the Tail goes; a person did just that! Got over 100 miles a gal if not more then Vanished although someone; did manage to grab said car!

Promote reconstitution of common law people's Grand Juries. Clean out UN corruption, allow the ICJ to being doing its intended job.

If you are not going to support and defend my constitution and treaties signed on my behalf for our benefit, then every aspect of our military can be defunded and disbanded down to bare minimums until they remember who is in charge. The only reason I allowed for growth of our military without question was that I was under the impression that my Constitution was under threat from a foreign power, and your only purpose was to support and defend it. Actually. One of the main reasons Companys moved was because most are Lazy and do not want to work. Next comes the ones who do work, yet do nothing while at work.

US created a system on Being Told what to do vs. Using ones head and getting it done, some can not even read, have problems remembering yesterday and a large number are Taking Pill's if not 2-3 everyday. Cell Phones should be BANNED at work unless one actually needs one!

Can you give me an example of "ignoring the inconvenient parts"... If you referring to the Patriots Act, I agree it is dangerous to our Constitution and I bet every other conservative on ATS would say the same, but it seems that both parties wanted it to come about. The Patriots Act is a dream come true for the progressive since it opens the door for their way of thinking....It sure seems Obama likes it....

The bottom line is the progressive wants the intent of the constitution to be dynamic, and I 100% disagree with that view and see it as a very dangerous road to travel. If your view is that since we already ignored parts of it then we might as well let it be dynamic too is also a dangerous road to travel that undermines democracy.

That is hardly a literal interpretation of 'rewriting,' but I guess if Michelle Bachmann characterizes it as such then it is gospel. That was a good example you provided. Michelle also was quite emphatic stating, "The Constitution says no man is above the law, including the president of the United States." So another example I might offer would be Ollie North and Fawn Hall during the Iran/Contra Hearings speaking of the necessity of going "above the law" when needed.

I'm not a big fan of Mr. Obama except sporadically ... because at the end of the day he's a corporatist of the first water. Like Bush II, and Clinton, and Bush I etc. etc. We pick our political poison in this country though, and that's a given.

You seem to thing I hate progressives and that is not true. I want balance and either direction of a small group or one group deciding how things should be is bad for all, it just stands that right now the progressives are winning their edge and so will unbalance everything in their direction.
