I'm interested in hearing any quotes you may know that remind you of ATS.
Here is mine:

You laugh at me because I'm different, I laugh at you because you're all the same.

i don't have a quote. But there is a thread by SkepticOverlord that had a profound impact on the way I think, and that I reread from time to time:

It is very unnerving to be proven wrong, particularly when you are really right and the person who is really wrong is proving you wrong and proving himself, wrongly, right.

The cult of the jellyfish is no less an imposition of a religious movement than is the cult of the dinosaur. When designing a methodology it is undoubtedly far easier to construct a system that discourages individual differences, than it is to construct a system that that leverages and encourages them, but that does not mean that a methodology designed for an array of idealized entities will be the most productive, successful, or rewarding one. Choosing a cult methodology to be applied to a professional class is often an economic one, treating individuality as undesirable reduces the professional to the proletariat, seen as less expensive and readily replaceable.

- Beau Sheil

Some come here to discourage, some are here to leverage and encourage.

Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. - Author C. Clark.

As we move into a time where science (e.g. quantum mechanics) looks more and more like magic, the voices of some of the more far out posters here start making more and more sense.

Dunno why but it always makes me smile to see a thread begin with a plea to the 'almighty mods' that the author was...

Not sure where to put this.....mods please move...

Its kinda sweet, confused, polite and usually means the thread can encompass more than one category so is often more interesting.
Or the OP hasn't a clue what they are on about.
