So, basically, the mods on ATS are more professional than a highly placed official for the IRS.

As I have maintained for years, US governance is filled with a bunch of self-serving, short-sighted yahoos.

Lerner apologized and said "I didn't mean to make such an unflattering comparison".
The mentaly ill and d-bags of America breathe a sigh of relief.

House Republicans have dug up emails from Lois Lerner in which the former IRS official refers to some in the Republican Party as “---holes” and "crazies"

Is it still considered derogatory if it is the truth?

Notice she said some, not all.

Yes.

Is it still considered derogatory.

Imagine the uproar if a conservative was caught with email like that.

(cue dramatic music. . . . )

It is not alright to marginalize, or put down any group of people when you work for a government agency that should be non-partisan. Doesn't matter what you think about Republicans, it's wrong.

Anything that exposes the corruption of the IRS makes me happy though.

The left has stated time and time about the IRS targeting liberal groups as well.

I can't wait to see the emails where she calls them names. . .

Small minds in big government.

What a lovely combination.

Is it any worst than republicans refer to other republicans?

Pointing out a simple fact is a crime now?

We all know the IRS "scandal" is hogwash, this is the best they can do?

And I thought these emails were lost?

The IRS needs ATS MODS to parse their emails.

Yes and thank you for noticing.

That kind of behavior would never be tolerated in a business environment and should never be tolerated with a high ranking government employee. They are not politicians and serve us all.

When people get promoted to a position of power, some who never should have been promoted let it go to their heads. I see it as doubly important that those in the IRS, who have such power be neutral and qualified. It appears that neither is the case with this person. It simply does not matter which Party they belong to; this is wrong.

Well said.

During the Bush years, I thought there were many who still believed this. Then came the Obama years...and I've learned there seem to be fewer than I originally thought.

You wanna compare what she said to what republicans have said about Obama?

Nice demagoguery!

Yeah them evil Republicans 'hate' everyone.

As if.

Only in America can you find so many 'angry' liberals claiming to 'love' everyone while hating them evil righties the most out of everyone here.

Woo Hoo the party of 'tolerance' in action!.

This should never, ever be a Partisan issue. The same behavior can be directed at either Party when their people are in power.

As long as people can't see past their own ideologies, this sort of thing will continue to happen. They know that and they know they can get away with it. Hopefully not this time.

This...

In the November chain, Lerner also makes an off-color comment about class.

She describes visiting an “Edwardian English village” full of large houses -- “which have been ruined by letting the hoi paloi live there!” (Hoi polloi is a term for common people.)

...from the article is directed at those they see as lesser human beings and has zero to do with Party. The arrogance of that is enough to justify outrage by everyone. Only a genuine bigot would say that.

Hear, hear!

Only I picture you on your soapbox with only three people in attendance.

If only that vision of America were universally true.

At least beezer got it right... ATS mods are more professional.

And I don't remember her being charged with anything. Fox news can scream it at the top of their lungs that they 'know' she is guilty but our courts have not said the same thing.

Likewise when corrupt police cover for each other and hide/destroy evidence of their wrongdoing we should just accept they are innocent ....

Pull the other chain neo.

The right has the market cornered as far as intolerance goes, hell, I think their political strategy is to alienate everyone out if the party.

LGBT
Hispanics
African Americans
Catholics
Muslims
the poor
the middle class

Anyone else I missed?

And again, if all her emails are lost, where did this one come from?
