Two New Mysterious Holes Appear In Siberia

"The mystery deepens.

Just days after a passing helicopter spotted a giant hole in northern Siberia, two more mysterious holes have been discovered in the region.

Scientists have yet to explain the first curious crater, and now they have more work on their hands."


"One of the newly discovered holes was spotted by reindeer herders on the Yamal Peninsula, where the first hole was spotted, The Moscow Times reported. It resembles the first hole and has a diameter of nearly 50 feet.

Herders also spotted the second newfound hole. It's hundreds of miles northeast in the Krasnoyarsk region and measures about 13 feet across, according to The Siberian Times."

Hey folks of ATS,

I was super fascinated by this first hole when it appeared. A lot of the explanations were kind of shotty but some were plausible. Well now scientist have a wider sample size to test there hypothesis. Reindeer herders have discovered two more holes. I'm assuming this isn't some normal phenomena that were just now catching onto , or these reindeer herders would have found and reported them before.

One of these holes is 50 ft in diameter and the other just 13 ft in diameter . So the conditions for these hole formations ( whatever they maybe) seem to be about the same as far as climate, season, and geography. Anyway I would to poke around one of these holes and do some testing and observation.

The articles I've read on these holes are very interesting. Certainly reminds me of some ScFi / Horror movie were something ancient has dug it's way out of the Earth and goes on a rampage of city distruction.

It does seem very sci-fi movie like, doesnt it.

If these holes are being caused by methane release, that could be bad news.

I hope I'm wrong though.

This is a crazy phenomenon! I wonder what would be causing this hole thing we got going on all over the place? It is getting a little creepy to think 1 day you could wake up and fall into a huge hole....Or traveling around herding reindeer and fall into a giant hole...Oh well, make your peace with whoever you believe in just in case these are signs of something higher at work here.

I have no idea what is causing these holes to appear, but it sure has me curious. They don't really look like sinkholes to me and I find it odd that nobody has come out with a decisive answer as of yet.

I guess we will all just keep watching and waiting...

They look very much like the 2 on Antarctica.
