Investigators had the 3 Iraquis under surveillance. After noticing that there was an increase in activity, and suspicous movements before Allawi
arrived. There is speculation that the 3 Iraquis, all of whom were identified as being members of the terror group Ansar al-Islam.

There is speculation that the 3 individuals in question have ties with Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. I am glad that alert investigators were able to stop
what could have been a tragedy. It shows how organized the terror network is though, as they were able to reach out in a relatively short amount of
time to another country to try and assasinate the Iraqui leader.
