Probably stupid question:

It is almost time of harvest. Crops on fields are often dry. Wouldn't salvo from such beast, as Grad MRL is, set fields ablaze?

maybe, if they would target crops with Grad MRL...

and even if it did set fields ablaze do you think you would find it as a news?

"today afternoon forces loyal to the half - legal Ukrainian government set ablaze crops near Slaavyansk after they reportedly used Grad missiles to target other Ukrainians..."

But you (and others) will happily believe every word from the Kremlin, why?

Thats presumptive on your part. If you knew me you would know I don't "believe everything" i hear in the main stream. I balance that (from both sides) with peoples (two sided) input here (online). Then I read between the lines and make up my own mind.

I will say this. All my life Iv'e heard abut the Evil Russians. The terrible commies are going to destroy the world. Have they?

Heaven't they been the ones to stand down from the Warsaw Pacts control of eastern Europe and elsewhere? Didn't they leave Afghanistan (unlike US)?

Hasn't all the fuss about the Evil Empire (Reagan), exhorbitant cost of defense on our part been mis appropriated?

They didn't invade Korea, Virtnam, Cuba, ad infinitum like everyone says they would (if we didn't prevent them). In fact the US did. The Us did and is encroaching into the vacuum left by the former Soviet Union. You ask me they prevented US from trying to empire the world into our corner.

All in the name of Humanitarianism and "Democracy". We have destroyed nation after nations sovereignty and murdered millions, not them.

Yes I don't believe my country, yes I don't believe the Russians. But I believe them before I believe the western mainstream media.

Respectfully, it is you that believe the lies or are just further promoting them.

Thanks for your time.

regards,

intrptr

The fire should be visible on sat imagery. That is why I asked.

Well I gave you a star for that...not that you need the fecking things

Anyway, as regards the latest offering of these pictures, I just looked at BBC news with their American correspondent, actually he is their man in America, and he is waving , "These grainy pictures" and looking very pissed off, and repeatedly being blued out in sound and vision. I don't think he is convinced at all, at all!

of course grainy pictures that can be interpreted in different ways!

but should we be "convinced"?

shouldn't proof be proof?

if we are talking about "convincing", "persuading", "claiming" are we talking about proofs?

it is clear from Obama and other US officials that they are trying to persuade EU countries to embrace further sanctions for Russia; they are not trying to hide it - they say it openly.

what we see is just a one more case of "WMDs in Iraq", "Syrian chemical attack" and other similar episodes of government deception for temporary effect without any regard for the truth or the facts.

I agree with you, I would say that BBC man would agree too.
John Kerry is quite clear in the video about seeing a missile hit MH17, yet he seems to be the only one who has, and remember he also says the missile was fired in Eastern Ukraine?
Now the same sources are waving a couple of static images proclaiming it as proof of missiles being shot into Ukraine from Russia by Russian forces. Now does that make any sense?....none at all, except to maybe John Kerry that is.
Why would Russia risk it for the biscuit, when then rebels are there in UKraine up close and personal, and only to happy to play with their toys. People can interpret these grainy pictures any way they want, but if something makes no sense, then give them the big

The satellite imagery was supposedly released from the State Department by email and spread via social media. Then U.S. "news" outlets picked up this story. As Paul Craig Roberts states, information this important

"would be released in a Washington press conference by top government officials with experts present to explain the meaning of the photos to the journalists and to answer questions. No real journalists, if any are left, are going to believe that such hot information would be released in an email."

Beats the hell out of me, this was given out last night by the BBC's Washington reporter..he liase's with the white house??

This is what Marie Harf told reporters last Thursday according to the BBC, (That story is unchanged to include last nights Washington broadcast since it's about the same thing) but neither is there any disclaimer about the slides.

"State department spokeswoman Marie Harf told reporters on Thursday the US had evidence derived from "some intelligence information" showing Russia firing artillery into eastern Ukraine.
She said the US would not provide further details so as not to compromise sources and methods of intelligence collection."

So the battle to get to a surrender by Russia or to go to war once again is something coming from within the state dept. and is using more of a social distribution of info then the standard official means to do so .Paul Craig Roberts statement that this is not the way such important information has been or should be handled is telling . The official/unofficial way the info is getting to the public ,means that the state dept wont have to release the real pic's and data ,and therefor not reveal the truth of the matter .

Malaysian Airlines MH17: Who Stands to Gain? www.globalresearch.ca...

The Russian military has released military monitoring data which challenge allegations circulating in the media pertaining to the MH 17 crash in the Donetsk Region of Eastern Ukraine on July 17 2014. Questions have been raised about Kiev military jets tracking MH 17, Ukrainian air traffic controllers and the deployment of Buk missile systems. Kiev should also release military data on the circumstances leading to the crash. So should the Pentagon which reportedly has relevant intelligence and satellite data.

Since military data is hardcore information, Kiev and Washington should be persuaded to be transparent and accountable. The UN Secretary-General can play a role in this since there is a specialized agency within the UN, the ICAO, dedicated to international civil aviation. Military data from Moscow, Kiev and Washington should be scrutinized by the independent international panel that is supposed to probe the MH 17 catastrophe.

Such data carries much more weight than videos purportedly revealing the role of the pro-Russian rebels and the Russian government in the crash. One such video showing a Buk system being moved from Ukraine to Russia is a fabrication. The billboard in the background establishes that it was shot in a town — Krasnoarmeisk — that has been under the control of the Ukrainian military since May 11. Similarly, a You Tube video showing a Russian General and Ukrainian rebels discussing their role in mistakenly downing a civilian aircraft was, from various tell-tale signs, produced before the event.

The public should be wary of fabricated “evidence” of this sort, after what we have witnessed in the last so many years. Have we forgotten the monstrous lies and massive distortions that accompanied the reckless allegation that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction (WMD) which led eventually to the invasion of that country in 2003 and the death of more than a million people? Iraq continues to bleed to this day. What about the Gulf of Tonkin episode of 1964 which again was a fabrication that paved the way for wanton US aggression against Vietnam that resulted in the death of more than 3 million Vietnamese? The “babies in incubators” incident in Kuwait in 1990 was yet another manufactured lie that aroused the anger of the people and served to justify the US assault on Iraq. Just last year we saw how an attempt was made by some parties to pin the blame for a sarin gas attack in Ghouta, Syria upon the Assad government when subsequent investigations have revealed that it was the work of some militant rebel group.

Here is what likely happened.
US operatives already in Ukraine during the Maiden standoff leaked the flight path and time of MH17 & military escort to a separatist manning the BUK with the mis-information that it was another Ukrainian military cargo jet.

The jet, full of Dutch citizens was shot down by BUK operator thinking he had targeted a cargo jet.

Fast forward to July 28, 2014.... The Hague's Arbitration court (in the Netherlands) rules that Russia must pay $50 Billion to shareholders who lost money when Russia appropriated Yukos.
Judges Stephen Schwebel (USA), Yves Fortier (Canada), & Charles Poncet (Switzerland) have assured that Russia is in no position to cut off Europe from gas supplies without having to default on the judgement.

Gas prices will likely rise as well in order for Russia to make the payments. a reply to: sosobad

very nice said!

this is what Russia’s Defense Ministry has stated:

“These materials were posted to Twitter not by accident, as their authenticity is impossible to prove – due to the absence of the attribution to the exact area, and an extremely low resolution. Let alone using them as ‘photographic evidence’,” Igor Konashenkov, the official representative of the ministry, stated.

exactly what most of us have been saying here...

I guess you don't have to be an "expert" to see the bull#.

“Last Friday, Ukrainian Defense Minister Valery Geletey again tried to add a sensational side to photo collages like this in the Ukrainian media – in vain. But on Sunday, the US ambassador to the Ukraine joined in, posting those satellite images on his Twitter page, which secured him the attention of the loyal Ukrainian media,” the Russian ministry said.

Thank you. The "secret info" press conferences weren't working so they cooked up this photo montage. And of course we saw thru it. Do they really think we don't analyze things?

Actually, we do. Its the people that depend on the main stream for their "News Flash" about world events that don't look past the smoke and mirrors. They are content now with the "satellite image proof". From now on it will be cited as such, too.

Reminds me of other times they use this, like in Iran. Awhile back mining operations there were displayed as "underground nuke factories." There are threads here on it, somewhere.

I put that evidentiary material in the same category as pics of alien moon bases and fossils on Mars, lol.

The hoax bin…

That's where it belongs.
The other thing is, even if you go with what Paul Craig Roberts's take on it, no one in officialdom it seems, is disclaiming the slides??

They better not, if they value their place at the trough…

The few that would are tongue in cheek about the forensics of it, is my guess.

imo

ETA: You did notice those pics don't display any precise coordinates?

That the one appears to show the launch and impact sites both inside Ukraine's borders, instead of from Russia to Ukraine?

So it seems that Russia is playing the ball back to the other side to come clean and give up the data to the groups involved in getting to the bottom of this horrific tragedy .

"They better not, if they value their place at the trough" Hey! That's a real Irish expression.
However it's made me realise something I didn't pay any heed to yesterday.
Yesterday, there were only six pigs at the trough on the first page, including you and I, but going by the credit response yesterday, there must have been a lot of piggies that joined in but not at the trough

About the pics, I did see that much clearer when they were shown briefly on the BBC but no time to get a good look, but I'm going to have another look at Demus's video link that shows them.

It also begs the question as to why Geoffrey Pyatt, the US Ambassador to the Ukraine would endorse this on a social network, it just screams propaganda. He's been catched before with Victoria Nuland..ahem, on Ukraine matters before this shebang. All in all it shows prior US interference in what is a Ukraine/Russia problem.
Now if this coming from the Gaffer/gaff Kerry, I would expect to see both of them at the dole queue shortly.
Who knows, maybe ol' Nudels led them both up the garden path.

All spokesmen, front men, game show hosts.

My biggest disappointment is Kerry. Once upon a time, he stood before congress and testified about the injustice of the Vietnam "Conflict".

Once upon a time I was enamored with him, guess it was all a ploy on his long and winding road to the top.

Won't get fooled again.

Yah naysayers say, its RT. Decide for yourselves who's more credible, the US or Russia.

It's a no-brainer. The US Media is a different league of credibility than the indisputable Russian propaganda outlet RT News.

Hell...the reason US Citizens question their news outlets and governments in the first place is because they are ABLE TO.

When news is reported here in the states EVERYONE questions it...other news agencies, fact check sites, every average joe in the streets...and that brings a different universe of policing BS in the news than the Russian OWNED media where if a reporter in Russia strays from the party line, they are beaten, killed or arrested...

What's the count up to these days? 150 Reporters killed or jailed in Russia just under Putin?...and FYI...Unsolved, random shootings seem to be the preference, with arrest reserved for people that are too well know to simply gun down.
en.wikipedia.org...

Puhleeese...I don't understand those that try to compare US Media (Which is painfully vetted by every yokel with a keyboard and every free-market news agency looking to embarrass a competitor) with the Russian State run news machine where reporters are killed by the government for asking questions.

There is a mountain of solid evidence the Russian backed separatists shot it down and counter claims that have nothing to back them up..,

It seems this has been the case from the very start of the conflict from Russia denying they had any troop in Crimea, to denying the backed the separatists there is massive huge undeniable evidence that Russia has been lying for months on end..

It's all getting very silly now isn't it... Come on Russia man up and stop the silly games
