Brief: Ever since I can remember I had been interested in what might be termed paranormal events science-fiction and science itself.

This thread is a discussion and repository on the technical challenges and specifics for the implementation, construction and use of a space-capable vehicle for public access and awareness.

The main things we should be discussing are.

Life support

Hull design

Propulsion engine

Navigation system

Vision System

Internal Instrumentation

Cargo Hold

Extranious internal components

Misc

I am sure I have missed some things, That is what this thread is for for instance magnetic shielding radiation xray shielding ect.

how we would configure the components.

A Video from the Secret Space Program and Breakaway Civilization Conference 2014

Humanity needs to act like it is 2014.

Here's what we can do to change the world right now, to a better ride: Take all that money we spent on weapons and defense each year and instead spend it feeding, clothing, and educating the poor of the world, which it would many times over, not one human being excluded, and WE CAN EXPLORE SPACE, TOGETHER, BOTH INNER AND OUTER, forever ... in peace. ~ Bill Hicks (1961 - 1994)

Here's how I do it:

  1. Save the image as a JPEG so that if I need to edit it again before I post, my digital camera software will let me do it.

  2. Select the icon I've highlighted.

  3. Hit "upload."

  4. Hit "Select Files."

  5. Select your files from your computer and hit open. (On my computer anyway.)

  6. (From the above graphic) hit the arrow. Wait for your files to upload.

  7. Select the image.

  8. Copy and paste the BBcode onto your thread.

Many thanks.

Some screen grabs that may be of some importance, including pictures from the original post.

When people see that, they don't know it's a thread.

It's too late to edit your OP.

Did you mean to mention your post from the "A Video from the Secret Space Program and Breakaway Civilization Conference 2014" thread:

Yes I figured i'd link the thread because it was the inspiration for this one and also contained the video as for my posts I didn't but thanks for linking it!

I am hoping with this thread we can come at this issue from a Scientific and Engineering viewpoint.

Sometimes all it takes is one simple stroke of brilliance so allow me to quote.

"No amount of experimentation can ever prove me right; a single experiment can prove me wrong."

Albert Einstein.

What are you referring to when you say "for public access and awareness"?

The information about the challenges and specifics, or the vehicle itself?

Okay so you just forgot to explain in your OP that this thread is a continuation of the other thread.

It will take awhile to click on all your links and make sense of them.

I mean for people to get interested in the science and engineering behind it in a format that would help all people regardless of their aptitude.

I want this thread to be focussed on designing space craft and the challenges that face anyone that might be persuing this course of action for whatever reason.

Okay the first four are just the images.

The fifth is a 10 page PDF.

The sixth is a link to NASA article.

The seventh is a YouTube video.

I wouldn't call my self an "expert" but I will assist in any way I can I am a little bit of an "arm chair scientist"

Open source space travel is the dream.

The link is to Thomas F. Valone's "Progress in Electrogravitics and Electrokinetics for Aviation and Space Travel."

I would consider Valone to be an expert.

By any chance have you ever gone to a conference where he was speaking?

have not seen him speak

currency is hindering this technology.

Considering how many planets there are and probably how much gold there actually is we could use gold for science instead of adornment.

to flourish our species has to shrug off this modern-day serfdom.

Not sure what you mean.

Are you saying interstellar travel would provide us with more gold for science?

Are you talking about industrial/scientific as in materials science uses for gold or something else?

No I am talking about people that feel their lively-hood would be threatened there.

The Universe is monsterously gargantuan I used gold as an example just imagine all elements and undiscovered elements and features just waiting for us.

Interstellar travel would provide us with alot more everything.

Yes Industrial and material sciences, for instance using gold when it is needed instead of sparingly for things that need extra conductivity.

More resources for experiments of a myriad of varieties.

This technology would do so much for this species.. the jobs created alone from this "to-be industry" are quite astounding.

But I believe the money issue is for a different thread a different day.

Interested to see the responses to this, I will continue monitoring this thread and reviewing data.

The only thing is that we wouldn't want to start looting other (inhabited) planets the way the powers that be take over countries here on Earth in order to exploit their resources.

I agree.

However, some people worry about future technology for fear of losing the job they have now.

But in the existing paradigm, people get laid off all the time; they're expected to re-train.

I'm retired now but when I was working I worked for a telecom that kept telling us that they were downsizing so be prepared. I took advantage of the free education they provided and went to school for six years at night to earn a second degree in legal assisting. When I got laid off, I was employed five weeks later as a paralegal. It turned out great because in the paralegal job I was doing legal writing which I enjoy.

With today's technology or with future technology, there's nothing to fear about losing your job if you take action when you see the handwriting on the wall.
