Buried Deep

I have scars that you can't see,
Buried deep inside of me,
They have ravaged my heart and soul,
And they are starting to take their toll.

I have wounds that will not heal,
They dictate how I act and feel,
I hide them under lock and key,
Away from prying eyes to see.

Like a shattered piece of rock,
With a hammer, I've been struck.
Pieces falling upon the floor,
A shadow of who I was before.

As water erodes a sandy shore,
Changing the shape forever more,
So has life eroded me,
Changed me for eternity.

Your core has been through a lot, slowly but surely you can change that into a positive as long as you are not owned by the past and what people think of you or what you think of you vs what happened.

change back to the true core for eternity. Nice poem but dark too.

I feel we all carry scars inside... And that makes us who we are today.
Our scars make us stronger and we can learn from the people who left those scars.
Very nice poem
