Handy, right? It's almost like we were failing to live down to the stereotype, so somebody decided to reinforce it, meanwhile engaging in stuff even the most separatist Muslims see as horrifying. See, even if you believed everything else, and ignored, oh, a good 60% of Holy Qu'ran and hundreds of years of exegesis, there is one fundamental rule: you do not attack other Muslims and you do not attack Islam. The Messenger said "A Muslim does not hurt other Muslims". Ergo, someone who does? Not a Muslim.

Although I'm still not sure why we support the rebels in Syria and are against the exact same group in Iraq.

Because ISIS don't represent all of the rebels in Syria - there is a myriad of different groups, some being moderate and inclusive of other faiths (FSA aligned) and others who are Islamic but tolerant all the way to the groups like ISIS or Al Nusra.

Hardly anything in the world is black and white - the sooner people remember that, the better.

The destruction continues. ISIS destroyed the ancient Jonah tomb in Mosul and now they've destroyed the mausoleum of the patron of the city - St. George - as well as the Shrine of Seth (son of Adam and Eve).

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, the jihadist group that took over Mosul in June and subsequently expelled Christians from the city, has destroyed the mausoleum of St. George, the city’s patron saint, according to L’Osservatore Romano.

Shia Post - Takfiri Terrorist of Isis Dynamite Shrine

Local security officials in the restive Nineveh Province say the ISIL terrorists destroyed the shrine of Prophet Jersis known as Saint George by Christians.

Terrorists also destroyed the shrine of Hazrat Shish (A.S) in Mosul, the de facto Iraqi capital of the “caliphate” proclaimed last month by so-called Islamic State (IS) leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

Prophet Seth, the third son of Adam and Eve in the flashpoint city. Earlier, the militants had leveled the tomb of another prophet called Yunus in the Qur’an and Jonah in the Bible.
