News appeared few days ago about possible order to take valuables from MH17 site. Unfortunately initial thread about it was deleted due to first sources at the time being of other language than English. News about it spread through Twitter, posted by a lawyer Mark Feigin representing kidnapped pilot, which later became primary source of such chilling news in the first articles.

To all detachments of Donetsk People's Republic army, to soldiers and commanders who from 18 to 21 July 2014 in the area where the Boeing 777 of Malaysian airlines crashed and who possess personal belongings related to this airplane. Before 8 pm on 23 July 2014 you must give these things away to the headquarters of DPR army. Valuable items (watches, earrings, lockets and other jewellery) must be sent to the DPR Defence Fund.

Possibly because it wasn't shown/proven in the original thread.

Because people are so out of touch with reality that just because our government says they're bad then they must be capable of the sickest of behaviors.

It amazes me how quick people begin to see the enemy almost instantly as in-human, unevolved and backwards. It's lost on most people that a couple months ago these people had jobs, withdrew cash from ATM's, sat at pubs, held their children, laughed, cried, overjoyed and concerned with everyday life just like us.

Then suddenly along comes a spider and poisons the people, spider being Russia. Now suddenly men with family and loved ones who only want to be left alone are depicted as ruthless savages not worthy of mercy and everyone laps it up again and again. Truth is always the first casualty of war.

Let's play a game, yeah?

Let's pretend for a minute logic dictates realty, ok? Trust me, its a fun game afterwards you can go back to your regularly scheduled "programming".

So using simple logic, we have a rebel group within Ukraine. This rebel group holds territory, large areas in fact. Which mean anything on that land, assets and resources belong to them. Furthermore, we hear time and again that Russia is financing and supplying the rebels with resources. This being quite likely, what good would come of looting bodies of dead foreign citizens knowing full well the nations of those citizens will clearly be demanding the bodies and an investigation to take place?

Remember we are playing a game of simple logic. So logic dictates here that rebels financed by another nation need to rob dead foreign citizens of his/her wristwatch(s) and the $40+ in their pocket?........right.

I completely agree, people should stick to one thing.
This order is some A4 list of paper with poorly faked signature and stamp.

The photo of rebels taking the thing is out of videocontext where it is shown that they openly (on cameras) collect everything to the carton boxes and the to the truck which went with bodies.

The Separtists are not all bad people. Most did the best they knew how to to collect the bodies so they could be sent back to somewhere where they could be properly buried. If they would not have done this, the bodies would have all been rotted by the time the necessary paperwork and the investigation was done to remove them. I would have rather had them try to get my loved ones back to us quickly if it was one of my relatives. I would not want them rotting in the field being eaten by vultures or other scavengers, waiting for the investigations to be completed.

I can't fathom why the people are complaining who are getting the bodies back, would it be better to let them sit in the field for weeks? People can't think, they believe the propaganda that is not even rational at all. Some of the people that are helping to collect these bodies are also farmers and local people, they are not all separatists. They are trying to treat the bodies like they would want others to treat their relatives if this happened to them.

Criminal acts not necessarily hold to the logic that everyone normally is used to. One of major turning points in history is 1967 when Soviet army started taking criminals into their ranks. Since that time criminal behavior there became natural "unwritten" law there, as criminals went up the ranks resulting in something like "dedovshchina" and numerous other "traditions" from criminal world which have no need to be listed in detail.
There's a war going on in that territory. Illogical act is not a proof against it, that it didn't happen. Missiles alone may have a cost of millions, but it doesn't mean that someone with a criminal mind didn't go for a loot at the site, or even made orders inconsistent with normal behavior.
Documents can also be faked, which leads to a conspiracy, or theory with questions to be answered. Proof may be only the one which shows it did happen or not.

So we should throw out logic because Russia recruited criminals in their ranks in the 1960's?

There is also a difference between one or two bad apples taking something that doesn't belong to them versus insinuating that a group (this case separatists) as looting dead bodies.

Your very first sentence:

News appeared few days ago about possible order to take valuables from MH17 site.

So you are insinuating that a rebel commander (or someone with rank within the rebels) gave an "order" to loot dead foreign nationals. The same foreign nationals that the world has been watching and listening to for days. You don't think that this story is suspect in any way?

Bad apples can appear anywhere, even among high ranks. Surely not everyone is like that, but is there a proof that it isn't like this this time and under these conditions (war)?

I'm not insinuating just discussing what's written in the news articles which is both puzzling and shocking. Provided photo and translation wasn't telling to loot anything, it just told to give everything that was taken and that valuables will be directed to the certain "defence fund".

More articles are coming about looting of MH17. In this one the one calling herself "zolotosya" is boasting about a friend who gave her makeup from Amsterdam "from fields".

Journalists who examined the scene said there was a notable lack of items such as phones, wallets, cameras and jewellery.

So these journalists went through the pockets of the dead and their luggage to check for such items?
