I don't have a lot to add to this first post. I think the video speaks for itself.

Animation created in Flash and After Effects looking at mans relationship with the natural world.

I thought this video was worthy of sharing here.

For those of you who can not view the video:


The 3 minute 36 second video begins with a cartoon of a man dropping into a forest. A headline reads "500,000 years ago". Next the man waves hello. His T-shirt reads "Welcome". The man begins to walk through the forest. He then finds a bug and intentionally steps on it. Squashing the bug under his feet as he does a fist pump. He then comes along two snakes and quickly grabs them and sticks his feet into their mouths to create a pair of boots.

Then he finds a chicken and sticks a tube connected to a barrel of toxic material and pumps it down the chickens throat. The chicken then bloats, inflated like a balloon, the man dumps a box of "crispy batter mix" on it. The man then picks up the bloated chicken and bounces it like a basketball. He spins the chicken on his finger and then runs and throws the chicken through a basketball hoop. The chicken gets stuck in the hoop. The man pokes it with a stick and the chicken drops into an industrial fat fryer. He then continues his walk with a bucket of "FKC" munching on the chicken legs.

The man then comes along a baby lamb and a larger sheep. He chops the legs off the baby lamb with a clever and begins eating them while he shaves the wool off the sheep with an electric razor. Then he pulls out a gun and shoots a few birds out of the sky while doing a fist pump. The birds are left to to rot with their heads blown off. Then the man pulls out a club and whacks a baby seal on the head. He pulls the seals fur off leaving the skeleton behind and makes a coat out of it.

Next he pulls out a magic wand as an elephant charges onto the scenes. He waves his magic wand and the elephant turns into a piano. He sits down and proceeds to "tickle the ivories" for a few bars. After that he climbs onto a boat named "Ruler of the Sea" and proceeds to dump barrels of toxic waste into the ocean. He then empties a trash can filled with garbage and the sea begins to change color. The sea darkens until it is completely black and filled with floating garbage. As the boat comes to shore, he pulls on a net filled with fish,that had been trawling behind the boat.

Next he begins his walk again and pulls out his gun. Shooting a pair of rodent looking mole like creatures he sees a big bear with its cub. He shoots the bear and chops off it's head with his trusty clever. The bear head spins in the air and lands on a plaque. Proud of his new trophy he places the plaque on a tree as a cage lands on the bear cub and a flashing sign above the cage reads "DANCE". There's also a chain around the cubs neck.

He proceeds at a faster pace now and leaps onto a leopard killing it and creating a rug. Again he pulls out his magic wand and turns all the trees in the forest into stacks of paper. With a pleased look on his face sidewalks, cities, skyscrapers, freeways, cars and industrial buildings pop up from the ground as he dances. Twirling in circles as he waves the magic wand the man then steps on a conveyor belt as cows and other animals are sent through machine hoppers and processed.

The man then puts on a lab coat and picks up a syringe. He injects a number of rabbits who have little labels marked "Test". The bunnies begin to transform into various disfigured forms gradually getting worse with each successive one. The last rabbit dies as it's skin falls off. Now laughing the man walks by a pile of toxic waste barrels and climbs a mountain of garbage. When he reaches the top of the garnage mountain he raises his hands above his head in a victorious manner. Still laughing the camera pans out to reveal many mountains of garbage cover the entire landscape now. Some with smoke from fires billowing in the background.

The camera pans back to the man and we see him lower his raised arms and walk over to a throne that sits on top of the garbage pile. He sits down on the throne and places a crown on his head and lights up a cigar. Suddenly a UFO flies in and lands. Two aliens emerge from the spaceship. They look around and scratch their heads with a displeased look on their faces. They walk over to the man, grab him by the foot and drag him a few feet. The aliens then jump and stomp on the man until we hear him scream and he is flattened. The aliens toss the flattened remains of the man in the air and when they land all you can see is his shirt that reads "Welcome". The aliens then proceed to get back into their UFO and fly away. Leaving the newly created "welcome mat" on top the pile of trash.

Yeah terrific video but it made the rounds here about a week ago.

That's a great little cartoon. I am huge fan of good animation. The old Fleisher stuff is my favorite.

And sadly it will continue that way...
