Yeah, it has to be widespread high impact doom for it to phase anyone. The family who had their home destroyed by a tornado knows doom does not need to be a big event. The parent who lost their kid when a car crashed knows doom yet most people think it is just an accident.

Doom doesn't have to effect a lot of people to be doom. Many small events around a country is just as effective as one big disaster. Add the drought, the forest fires destroying homes, the earthquakes and tornado together with a recession and collapse of the housing market and high unemployment and you get doom. If the stock market dropped fifty percent that would cause major doom. Tie that to other events and what do you have. We have created a risky society, one based on debt. That means we are more susceptible to a lot of things.

It is funny how many people seem to perversely thrive off of talk of conspiracy or massive impending doom of any kind. I mean, i get a strange thrill from reading both credible and way out there conspiracies. Reading things like William Cooper's "Behold a Pale Horse" and other similar things blew my mind back in the day.
