I did watch "Breaking Bad" I had the pleasure and honor of working on that one as well. Some of the best TV ever to

I've often wondered if the big-noting loudmouth Yank is what the media in the US wants the rest of the world to perceive every person in The US as being like.

Every 'reality' show that comes out of the US is either some redneck big mouth as you've said, or just some over-the-top larger than life idiot that really demeans what the real, every day people from the US are actually like.

Luckily the internet and international communication makes these farces of shows stand out for what they are, nothing but media peddled tripe that has no basis whatsoever in reality.

I mostly just read. When I do watch TV, it is basketball or football. I watch scripted shows on Netflix, if I hear they are good. My girlfriend watches all that stuff though. So I have seen them.

Hey that one doesn't fit the bill I guess, -that's one I watch.

Even though most are scripted, yes, some are actually quite watchable.

I think is is a Coasty thing. Because obviously we in fly over land are all overweight, brain dead, morons pawning everything in order to make our double wide payments. Wild animal wrestling and creature sleuthing does not pay as well as it once did.

I say it all of the time.

City folk need to get out of the cubicle and see your countryside.

The US is not just about your big city life.

Take a long drive down some highways and see how America really is people.

And if you want some more hillbilly red neck reality, my friends have a big chance of getting on TV soon. Oh, but their not overweight, but maybe a lot of their fans are.

I'd like to know what ATS thinks of these guys.

As a country guy, I hate most of those shows(DD an exception to the rule) and think that Hollywood producers look for the worst to represent a whole populace. To them, it's funny to laugh at rednecks and disparage them. If rednecks made shows depicting jewish folk.......

As far as Storage wars, I don't believe any of those people are rednecks at all. Pawn Stars are jewish guys, I think. Big Scmo, I don't know what is being done there, but it is deliberate.

The show about hillbilly ginseng is fake and scripted. I know a bunch of those guys. That does not go on at all and people do not act like that. The Hollywood crew goes on what they like to call: "hick hunt". They find the dumbest of the dumb, and if you are the least bit intelligent, you will know that we all have dumb people no matter where we are.

But I agree. Too many of these shows. What ever happened to shows like M*A*S*H? The current state of TV and movies AND music is an indicator that the wrong people are in charge. I'm tired of them showing country people in a bad light. One day, those chickens will come home to roost.
