Tsunami warnings are blaring as a 6.8 Earthquake hits only 79 miles off the coast of Japan near Fukushima

This was Friday night...its monday here now....I assume everything is a OK in Fuki.......probly not...

the video link is about the recent fukishima quake. the alert is, apparently, for fiji.

No it won't. It was nearly 400 miles deep, and as your own C & P from the Tsunami Warning Center says:

Summary at USGS

Looks like it happened six hours ago or so, and a goodly distance from the main islands of Fiji, so probably not something to be worried about. They did have a 4.4 quake yesterday, though, so something might be building up.

6.9 is not a "mega-quake" (8+)

In my travels through the net I read a recent article about how earthquakes in that area are accellerating the buildup of the magma in Mount Fugi. Supposedly it is growing faster than expected.

I suppose the two things are related so it isn't actually a new thought train.

I see this is about Figi, I thought it was about Fugi. Sorry
