international armed conflict that commenced in Iraq in Anbar governorate in January 2014 and has since spread to other areas of the country since the beginning of June has inflicted untold hardship and suffering on the civilian population with large scale killings, injuries, and destruction and damage of livelihoods and property.
The minimum number of civilians killed in the first six months of 2014 is 5,576 with at least 11,665 wounded.
Since the beginning of June 2014, a minimum of 1,531 civilians have been killed and 1,763 have been wounded ,and some 1.2 millions people have been internally displaced as a result of the violence including over 600,000 since the beginning of June alone

Whole UN report of the potential war crimes can be read here PDF

There is no end in sight, António Guterres ( UN High Commissioner for Refugees ), said Iraq risks “full-fledged sectarian war and complete fragmentation” as Iraqis continue to flee their homes and minority groups are targeted.
It seems that ISIS ( ISIL)is out of control and Iraqi security forces (ISF) has failed big time protecting civilians during hostilities.

They are helpless.. it has spread so fast in such a large area by now that placing peacekeeping forces doesn´t help anything.

Agreed.
The word "possible" could be investigated, give me a break.
There are definite war crimes that are happening and have been happening and not a bit is done about it.
The US should leave nato/un and defund all Mideast countries and allow whatever happens naturally.
We cannot police the world, and the meddling we do only inflames the hate.

The inevitable result of the US led war in Iraq is now occurring....THIS is what they wanted to happen!.
Don't kid yourself....the fragmenta\tion and violence is precisely what the plan was initiated to make happen....
The middle east cannot become ANY KIND OF THREAT....as long as they are busy killing each other off.....and while they do that....its an oil peddlers market out there.....

The region has always been in conflict going back centuries before the US ever existed. If the US disappeared tomorrow I'd hazard a guess to assume the same would continue unabated.

Having said that. It doesn't help when the US puts boots on the ground there but rather only adds to the ongoing mess.

I'm with Slayer--- the ME has always been in wars for centuries, always have and always will

All the US intervention does is stir up the hornets nest, so to speak, not to mention leave it worse than it was to begin with

They clearly don't like Westerners interfering in their conflicts, which the US could never understand to begin with
All US/Britain want to do is force others to be like them and it's never, ever gonna happen. Never!!

Of course, unless it's like many say, it's all about resources, our government will find a reason to 'interfere' and inject themselves where they clearly don't belong

The foreign policy of the US/Britain has been stirring up wars for a long time...between middle eastern contenders....as in Iran /Iraq....and indiscriminate interventions from time to time....
Who could safely say they would be always fighting without our making it possible in so many ways....hum?

Wait until they start making dirty bombs out of that 90lbs of nuclear material they took from the university a couple weeks ago.
Or if they start using the chemical weapons they got out of the caches' more than a month ago.

Seems now would be the time to escalate their activities with all the attention being on Gaza and Ukraine.

The United Nations has launched an international inquiry into allegations of human rights violations and war crimes that may have been committed by Israel during its military offensive in the Gaza Strip.

UN launches probe into possible Israeli war crimes, US votes against it

Vote to support UN probe was 29-1, with US siding with Israel. But US cannot veto the UN Human Rights Council.

Over 100 young children have been killed in Gaza.
