The shear volume of security vehicles was amazing, there must be serious concern for his safety. It must be something to have the Russians, israelis, Chinese, Muslim nations, and all of America pissed at you. Seems like the only ones to make him feel the love come from the left coast and south of the border.

What do you expect for a presidential convoy? Since when do they not roll around with above and beyond security.

“I'm sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and disagree with this administration, somehow you're not patriotic. We need to stand up and say we're Americans, and we have the right to debate and disagree with any administration.”

― Hillary Rodham Clinton

I honestly wonder if you'd be defending the president if it were Bush.

no....bush cut funds to the VA.......this is from Feb. 2007

by the way, this is from a major Washington DC based right-leaning newspaper.

Funny how the person filming the video was not interested in filming the protest, but just wanted to film Obama driving past!

Actually I don't know what to expect, and I wouldn't presume such a thing. I have never seen one before outside of the video of the Kennedy assassination. But with that volume of vehicles and the ability to carry that many people they could hold off an army I suppose.

That's the intent.

A convoy like that is saying exactly that... "Don't try it, 'cause you'll die, and the President won't even get his hair ruffled." Or words to that effect.

So... a handful of vets from Gun Rights Across America pulled a stunt because... (from source):

Obama’s not doing anything to protect our veterans. He wants to ban the importation of the AK-47 rifle, but he refuses to help our veterans who were shot at by them! I think I speak for all of us when I say, I can’t ever remember a U.S. President who has disrespected our men and women who have honorably served the nation they love, more than Barack Hussein Obama.

The ban on importing Kalashnikovs has nothing to do with gun control. Everyone knows that... right? As for the, "disrespected our men and women" bit, blah blah. How so? The problems with the VA have been going on for decades.

source - Military.com

DAYTON -- The Department of Veterans Affairs spends more today in inflation adjusted dollars than it did after World War II and the Vietnam War, when millions of troops returned from the battlefield, according to federal budget figures.

By the next fiscal year, the VA budget is projected to rise 58 percent since 2009 to $152.7 billion, more than double the $70.9 billion spent in 2005, agency figures show.

It sure as hell doesn't have to do with a lack of throwing money at the VA under this administration, does it? It has everything to do with the perception of disrespect that is manufactured by far right propaganda.

"He hates the troops!"
"He hates America!"

I guess we've all forgotten how anyone who didn't support war in Iraq (either) was accused of hating the troops?

Your kidding right, did you forget he appointed the VA Zar to his post to oversee the VA, like it or not the buck stops at the top. It's not like this guy didn't have years to fix this endemic problem. I agree, vets have been # on for decades, but that doesn't excuse a die in the pants liberal from exercising his " executive orders" now does it?

What? I'm supposed to feel sorry these jackasses can't get their foreign made gun?

Oh boo hoo!

Be a patriot, buy American you commie thugs.

There you go talking out your ass again. I feel shame on your behalf.

I said no such thing. Frankly your feelings have no relevance to me or any of the "jackasses" which happen to sport a bigger set than you or I.

Mind blown...

It's getting to the point where the only "love" he's feeling is from his girls, "Hilary" excluded.

So you don't know what to expect but you feel the need to comment on the "sheer amount of protection"?
From what I have seen in the past that was pretty standard. High priority target and all usually calls for a little beef

That's considerably more . . . respect/attention . . . than he deserved. And, I suppose it's nice they didn't moon him.

Though even that would have been more respect than he deserved.

?Thankfully?, barring heart-felt genuine repentance . . . and maybe even with that, he will be reaping what he has sown.

He will relive the suffering, cruelty, pain, hopelessness, hurt, dismay of each and every individual his ruthless tyranny has and will result in.

Evidently you've not been in the military and certainly not enlisted ranks in the military.

Military pay is a joke.

But hey . . . feel free to demonstrate more uninformed liberal blather.

So vets are only capable of parroting right wing propaganda? No way they might be able to make distinctions and like/dislike a politician based on their merit or lack there-of?

Any administration simply throwing money at a problem like the VA means nothing. That is bureaucratic ineptitude at its finest.

These guys in the story may be right wing propaganda parrots. They might not. However, they have the right to free speech, informed or otherwise.

Take a joke, since other people already figured it out.

The real irony here is American servicemen upset they can't get a Russian gun!

Yes, I can agree that a lot of the outrage about the troops/VA is being exploited by the Right. That being said, I think that every president since the Vietnam war deserves to have the Vets turn their back to them.

We have really dropped the ball when it comes to taking care of the men and women that, regardless of the political motivations and desires of those in charge, went to war with the idea that they were fighting for a honorable cause.

It's not their fault that the wars were unnecessary. They did what was asked when they were called upon. We should honor that by taking care of them when they come back broken and bloodied.

Wish we could the politics aside on this issue.....and that is not directed at just you, my friend.

True.
Any vet who went to a VA hospital from the 60's onwards can tell you the care was subpar. Everyone knew it FOR ALMOST FORTY YEARS how underfunded it was, yet, suddenly it is a political topic???

Oh yeah, I almost forgot...for quite a few years it was a president who lied about oral sex, the inept scion of a wealthy New England family playing Texas Cowboy, and a deer in the headlights chosen by the elites over the first female president in history to appease a dissenting among a group who were viewed as property 150 years before...

That the VA was poor quality was a given...
Just like trying to get the money for a GI Bill to go to school.
Since the Constitution was ratified, these United States have been in war and armed conflict for all but 21 years...out of 220+ years...

Contemplate that on the Tree of Woe.

Never been good at jokes.

As a kid, I usually didn't get them.

Some better as an adult but it's still a weak area.

Sorry.

I've just about had it with vets.

Bunch of socialist moochers the lot of em.

Free health care, free money, free housing, free free free.

Sick of pandering to these losers, you did a job, you were paid for that job, you knew the risks going in. We don't owe them a thing.

And don't talk to me about them protecting our freedom, the last war that was true was WWII those vets deserve respect.

Rest of em are just moochers and socialists.

As a soldier that is very offensive. Have you had friends killed while working at Mcdonalds which is where you probably work. We don't get paid a lot and the few perks are our benefits. Have you spent over a year from your family? Yes it was a choice only because so few were available. Your comment was unintelligent and had no valid remarks. Unemployment is at an all time high so to support my family I had to join the army. I'm deployed now. It sucks but I'm taking care of my family. I signed a contract guaranteeing me my benefits while I'm in and when I get out. Which is going to be sooner than planned because they're cutting 120,000 of us out next year which will flood the job market so it will be harder to get a job.
All that being said what have you done for your country? Perhaps you should take your aggression to the politicians because a congressman gets paid $170,000 every year for life and free healthcare. Think before you speak/type.

Joke or not that was very ignorant of you.

I don't think their point was wanting to buy foreign made ak47's. I took it as they were upset he was spending time worrying about banning foreign made guns and not putting much time into improving VA services. But hey maybe I misunderstood.
