First: According to international law and international recognition Israel is the lawful "occupier" of the land.

Second: There has NEVER been a palestinian state. There is no claim, lawful or historical that the Palestinians have to exercise.

Third: Regardless of the above, it is what it it, where it is, as it is. If the palestinians choose to not accept the reality of the situation and choose to continue to fight they will continue to suffer. Facts. It is not the actions of a sane people to continue to shoot themselves in the foot as they do.

No, a nation is a nation when it is governed by a single centralized govt, whether that govt is an oligarchy, monarchy, dictatorship or whatever.

Palestinians have never ruled the land. They have less of an historical claim on that land then the American Indians have on America.

Yeah, I read this bit and automatically assumed you have no idea what your on about. Israel was created off historical and religious claims (False ones at that), how is it irrelevant? I think WW2 is irrelevant now but somehow we keep being reminded about it when it is being used to justify certain things.. It seems as though some parts of history are important while others are just ignored. To be specific, Hamas rejected a cease-fire because it did not extend into a truce. They are also demanding the removal of the embargo and blockade on Gaza which, really, is doing more to ruin Gaza than the missiles and rockets and god knows what else - those make the news because they splash blood everywhere, but 70% unemployment, 100% inability to meet pay roll, 0% export of what gaza does produce, next to no infrastructure material allowed in....
