The U.S. Department of Justice has sent a member of its Community Relations Service team to investigate a Nebraska parade float that criticized President Obama.

A Fourth of July parade float featured at the annual Independence Day parade in Norfolk sparked criticism when it depicted a zombie-like figure resembling Mr. Obama standing outside an outhouse, which was labeled the “Obama Presidential Library.”

The Nebraska Democratic Party called the float one of the “worst shows of racism and disrespect for the office of the presidency that Nebraska has ever seen.” Read more: www.washingtontimes.com... Follow us: @washtimes on Twitter

DOJ investigates Nebraska parade float critical of Obama

Reason why, humor that was not even racist. but does that stop the racist's in the democratic party from crying racist and Holder from sending some one to check it out.

not everything is about race, i took it as his presidential term amounts to a bunch of sh@@.

it's not the first one that was put up, there was one put up in front of a tractor repair shop in New Mexico in 2012.
nobody sent the DOJ then.

______ him if he can't take a joke. choose your own word for the blank

Damn I forgot to include this in my thread!

I have been trying to figure out how an outhouse is 'racist'.

Still don't see it.

Rather fitting though as that saying 'snip rolls down hill'.

And there has been ALOT of it rolling down hill from that Capitol Shill for the last 6 years.

My opinion?

FREE SPEECH!

And we all know how Obama hates that.

He's crapped all over everything and everybody so this isn't racist but rather a statement.

Peace

Do the Moonies still own the Times?

It's still about as good as the Daily Mail. And as reliable, too...

But I know no one will care about the money that these people make in advertising off of you (and remember to enter in your "special" code with their app (dont bother reading the terms and restrictions) for a chance at a hundred dollar Amazon gift card...

Hi!
Im currently in Nebraska and I would like to point out how ridiculous this claim is.
In a recent Omaha World Herald or Lincoln Journal article, the maker of said float elaborated to the fact that the "zombie" was meant to depict himself waiting for the VA.

How it got construed that it was a depiction of Obama, no one is really sure. But the media keeps spewing that claim.

My opinion is that this was free speech and the float was registered political sattire. So wheres the fire!?!

Really though, that zombie looks nothing like Obama and the whole story confused me and wreaks of PC.

Should also note that the article mentioned that most of the floats opposers hail from Omaha and Lincoln and the majority of us here couldnt care less....

That was good.
It isn't racist he's half white and half black, he's also half US and half Kenya, maybe he only speaks half truth.
I think they did well describing what his words really are or where they will wind up.

i saw that in a couple of article . i also read in one of the many articles that i read before posting this, is that the next year there won't be anything like this.
so they struck a blow against free speech.

Long gone are the days when simple acts of speech and expression are protected by the government. Everyone should be afraid. Very afraid.

I always thought the "Library" would be in a renovated burned out hot dog stand.

Now I'm confused.

unless the stand has an outhouse.

Obama is not sacred. The DOJ has no case.

He is in political office and a public figure, and is fair game for this kind of lampooning.

That's the world of politics and a proud American tradition.

Remember back in the day when the cool crowd thought dissent was 'patriotic' ?

Now the 'cool' crowd say dissent, and disagreement is 'racist'.

I wish the cool crowd would make up their damn minds.

My biggest life-long political lesson and disappointment has been to learn how populated our nation is by hypocrites.
