Sorry, don't have time to write a lengthy review of the article, but what I have time to read is that this type of thing happens often at Yellowstone. Researchers aren't sure why its happening and they say they aren't sure if or when the SuperVolcano, known as Yellowstone, will erupt.

The park goes through temperature fluctuation from the underground thermal activity, but it seems to be getting worse.

“But it’s hard to tell if a thermal area is hotter than normal, because it’s always fluctuating here,” Nash said. “Road closures are business as usual for us.”

To fix the melting roads, maintenance workers have to remove the melted asphalt and apply a sand and lime mixture to soak up the remains. They hope the roads will be open again by next week.

From what I understand it is hot water causing the roads to melt, NOT magma.online.wsj.com...

This is from the daily caller, I wouldn't put to much faith in it. They also said that park rangers were using gestapo tactics.

That is not the only link reporting it. It IS happening, just has nothing to do with an eruption.

Thats quite a leap!
Would we not expect to see the same thing if it were getting ready to erupt? From the docu's I've watched they all say that based on its frequency in the past, its now overdue!

Man I hope I am far enough away from that thing to survive the initial eruption.

Im saying while it is true, the roads are in fact melting, due to boiling water from underneath them. On the other hand, it has been said that it is NOT an indication that the super volcano is going to explode anytime soon.

Q: How imminent is an eruption of the Yellowstone Volcano?

A: There is no evidence that a catastrophic eruption at Yellowstone National Park (YNP) is imminent. Current geologic activity at Yellowstone has remained relatively constant since earth scientists first started monitoring some 30 years ago. Though another caldera-forming eruption is theoretically possible, it is very unlikely to occur in the next thousand or even 10,000 years.

The most likely activity would be lava flows such as those that occurred after the last major eruption. Such a lava flow would ooze slowly over months and years, allowing plenty of time for park managers to evaluate the situation and protect people. No scientific evidence indicates such a lava flow will occur soon.

Sure, a lot of the documentaries out there are nothing more than speculation and a cheap attempt at doom porn. Scientist know better in my opinion.

However, Bindeman says he doesn’t think that this kind of eruption will happen anytime soon. He says it won’t happen for at least another million years.

“Our research of the pattern of such volcanism in two older, ‘complete’ caldera clusters in the wake of Yellowstone allows a prognosis that Yellowstone is on a dying cycle, rather than on a ramping up cycle,” he says.

Well, a lot of the docu's have very respectable scientists saying "Its over due".

I guess it all comes down to who's scientists we care to believe
