The last of the original Ramones Tommy Ramone has died in a hospice in New York it has been announced.

He started The Ramones with three friends from a New York high-school in 1974. The band has been credited with the invention of punk rock.
Although they were never commercially successful, their unique sound helped shape rock music and is still often cited as inspirations to new generations of musicians.
Their hit songs I Wanna Be Sedated and Blitzkrieg Bop, among others, earned them an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002.

Well that's a bummer!

Back in High School I was always being told by people that I looked like one of the Ramones.
It got me listening to them.

I still do sometimes!

There is now a cloud crossing my sunshine this morning and my coffee won't taste quite right.
*raises coffee mug in the air*

RIP Tommy!

*turns volume way UP*

And good morning neighbors!

The Ramones were Fantastic. The only reason they wern't a huge commercial success here in the States is because America is Culturally brain dead.

I still listen to their stuff. It's timeless.

A couple favorites;
Their cover of the Stones "Out Of Time"

Oh .... sad... so many of the creative people from my youth are now dead... aging sucks that way, but really, most of them went pretty young due to some life choices.

But the Ramones were extraordinary and half the music I love wouldn't be around if it weren't for them.

Better to live hard and leave a good looking corpse... but then there is Keith Richards... he's still chugging along... so far, and his corpse will look like shi$..

This day, everyone on the planet moves up one-notch in terms of creative genius. He was that important.
