Eventually, the pro gun crowd will start calling these shootings by "law abiding gun owners" " pro active self defense".

so can any of you pro gun people look this young lady in the eye and tell her that nothing can ever be done about gun violence?

tell her that her family died in vain. That you think its sad, but that's the world we live in.

Someone already used this slimey, scummy moniker and it was not the pro-Second Amendment group.

BULLCRAP!

Gun violence and mass shootings — myths, facts and solutions

We often see reports claiming that gun violence is increasing, but national trends show otherwise. FBI crime statistics show that gun violence was far higher 20 years ago. A few extra cases in a short timeframe are likely to be chance fluctuations or copycat effects.

Things ARE being done about gun violence, but that doesn't mean it is non-existent. It can NEVER be non-existent and that is the folly that you leftists seem to think.

There is a mistaken belief that we must be able to predict violence in order to prevent it. On the contrary, we can prevent problems without prediction if we take a public health approach. Public health programs have dramatically reduced lung cancer by preventing smoking. Automobile accidents are curtailed by traffic regulations, safer cars, and driver training. Real violence prevention cannot wait until there is a gunman at the door, but must start before problems escalate into violence. For examples, there are numerous controlled studies demonstrating that school-based counseling and violence prevention programs are effective at teaching students how to resolve conflicts and problems without resorting to violence. Prevention must begin early to be most effective.

Why don't you look the young lady in the eye and state that you want to abuse her personal tragedy as a political tool for you to abuse!

No one said it was a victory for anything. You are just trying to politicize a tragedy.

An absolute tragedy happens and the best you can do is try to turn it to push your obvious agenda.

The entire tragic loss of life, the life of torment in the 15 year old's future and you think it's great opportunity to push an agenda.

There is a job just waiting for you in the sleazy world of politics.

Good god, where is your humanity.

P
what happened to the sandy hook defense. Where we cannot talk about these things because of the possible harm we do to living family members who are grieving? Is it because its ok if you have an agenda? But not if you want to know the truth of the matter?

Again, this just illustrates the hypocrisy of the progressive left.

Where IS your thread on the 80+ deaths in Chicago over the weekend? Doesn't fit into your agenda, does it.

Keep you eye on this case, like so many others you may find he was on anti depressants to help him cope with the family break up.

In my opinion mind altering prescription drugs are the true killer.

Yes it is a tragedy, but the pro gun crowd wants to celebrate it by apathy.

oh well too bad, can't do anything about it, don't try. Who cares how many people die, it's their fault for not being armed themselves.

Honestly, you are about the most full of crap person here.

A criminal act wiped out a family.

If you were even a tiny bit honest, you would be decrying ALL criminal actions, murders, and not just ones carried out with an object that you don't like.

When will you post here about people killed by arson?
Or knives?
Or fists?

Plain and simple, you are dishonest.

We CAN do something about. We WILL prosecute the man to the fullest extent of the law. He committed a crime! Why is that so hard for you to understand? It has nothing to do with the tool he used to do it with, he STILL murdered his family. END. OF. STORY.

This is about the only criminal act that has multiple lobby groups fighting to make sure this kind of thing can not only continue to happen. but proliferate in the future.

Each of these tragedies are met with apathy by the pro gun crowd.

Apathy is acceptance.

No, it is pragmatism. Homicide is already illegal. If the murderer in the Original Post bashed his family's skulls in with a hammer would you have made this thread?

I think not. The disingenuousness is obvious to everyone.

There is no agenda to restrict other tools (yet).

If the murderer in the op used a hammer, the others might have been able to get out alive. It takes a lot more to kill someone with a hammer than a gun.

But be "pragmatic" don't care how many die, long as they don't change anything that might prevent this from happening more often.

Its sad .. but banning firearms wont solve a thing .. people will always find another way to kill ..

Suspect that divorce/custody laws may have contributed as often the laws are biased against fathers .. seen it in many countries often with the same tragic end .. the men end up either committing suicide or killing their children then themselves .. people need to adress the issues that lead to such tragic acts being committed or it will never end.

Regardless, they still would have been dead. You are concerned about the manner of death, not that people were murdered.

At what point did I day I did not care? And I am still waiting on your plan to prevent homicides.

There is a "Murder" lobbying group???

Now I have heard it all.

When will you decry arson and go after the gas companies and gas stations?

I called it a page back. Now everyone is just feeding the op. It's been called out for what it is, and no amount of logical discussion will ever get through to some folks. Smh I guess it is what it is anymore...
