Did you even bother to read your inane source prior to posting it? It says that domestic violence is not a mass shooting which eliminates the man you are railing about who shot his family.

At this point, I have three members, obviously trolling, no one with any middle of the road ideas are coming forth.

I've explained my position carefully, I've come up with what i feel is a viable solution that given time might reduce the severity and frequency of these mass shootings by people who have mental health problems that legally obtain firearms.

I'll simply wait, not feed the trolls, and reply to any poster that wants to take this discussion seriously.

so because we don't think like you, we're trolling?

way to go, man...so much for not attacking the player, instead of the ball...

your ideas wouldn't work...for one simple reason...

the black market is still a thing that exists.

No, actually, you have not, as evidenced by the fact that Mother Jones (of all places) had to point out to you the man in the Original Post was not the perpetrator of a 'mass shooting'.

Additionally, your 'solutions', such as they were, entailed a more intrusive government with no guarantee that the additional freedoms surrendered would have come even remotely close to preventing the violent outbreak in the Original Post.

You want others to capitulate to further infringement of a right due to an occurrence that does not happen often.

You show your fake outrage of murder to only be worthy of your outcry when a firearm is used.

You willfully omit violence when perpetrated with anything other then a firearm.

You casually misuse statutes and laws, twisting them into a meaning that everyone else knows is not what it is, in some attempt to provide a foundation to your weak argument.

And you provide articles from sources that have a clear and unabashed biased towards Socialism and disarming people.

And WE are the ones trolling?????
Cool story Bro. Got another one?

AugustusMasonicus Daedalus macman anothernut.

please refer to my last reply to huntwok. He is disingenuous, a polite way of referring to someone who speaks with a forked tongue.

i will not waste any of my God given breath replying to a person who is genuinely dishonest with their representation of reality and willfully deceptive in their interaction with others. however you guys would benefit from a breather.

here is a story of someone who was genuinely and sincerely incorrect in their interpretation of reality. huntwok is genuinely dishonest and willfully deceptive about reality.

in the story the progressive/democratic/socialist movement is the Fox.

here is the story:

Chicken Little likes to walk in the woods. She likes to look at the trees. She likes to smell the flowers. She likes to listen to the birds singing.

One day while she is walking an acorn falls from a tree, and hits the top of her little head.

- My, oh, my, the sky is falling. I must run and tell the lion about it, - says Chicken Little and begins to run.

She runs and runs. By and by she meets the hen.

- Where are you going? - asks the hen.

- Oh, Henny Penny, the sky is falling and I am going to the lion to tell him about it.

- How do you know it? - asks Henny Penny.

- It hit me on the head, so I know it must be so, - says Chicken Little.

- Let me go with you! - says Henny Penny. - Run, run.

So the two run and run until they meet Ducky Lucky.

- The sky is falling, - says Henny Penny. - We are going to the lion to tell him about it.

- How do you know that? - asks Ducky Lucky.

- It hit Chicken Little on the head, - says Henny Penny.

- May I come with you? - asks Ducky Lucky.

- Come, - says Henny Penny.

So all three of them run on and on until they meet Foxey Loxey.

- Where are you going? - asks Foxey Loxey.

- The sky is falling and we are going to the lion to tell him about it, - says Ducky Lucky.

- Do you know where he lives? - asks the fox.

- I don't, - says Chicken Little.

- I don't, - says Henny Penny.

- I don't, - says Ducky Lucky.

- I do, - says Foxey Loxey. - Come with me and I can show you the way.

He walks on and on until he comes to his den.

- Come right in, - says Foxey Loxey.

They all go in, but they never, never come out again.

huntwok is frustrated that you guys will not play the part of Henny Penny and Ducky Lucky..

I've explained my position carefully, I've come up with what i feel is a viable solution ,,,,,,,,

Within this statement lies all the information needed to
explain the irreconcilable differences between the two
intractable and unbridgeable positions.

One side responds to reality by way of their emotions, feelings and bodily
states and conditions caused by the secretion of strong neurotransmitters and hormones.
Subjective orientation.

Commonly referred to as the feminine aspect of experience.

One side responds to reality by way of their thoughts, intellect and rational reasoning.
Objective orientation.

Commonly referred to as the masculine aspect of experience.

The above quote "...have come up with what I FEEL is a viable solution..."
This is pure feminine emotional reasoning, and it does not matter if it is being produced by a male plumbed human.
It is pure emotional response to the bad horrible unfair tragedy that recently occurred.

The three main responders (males) to this line of reasoning (female) are attempting to give objective facts, data, analysis and are completely baffled as to why there is no common ground and understanding.

The feminine mind is similar to a plate of spaghetti.
The male mind is liken to a waffle.

The best thing to do in this situation guys is to hug her and tell her that
we will make her safe and protect her to the end.

i've heard this idea before as well, and my argument against it was that when you give the government the ability to define what constitutes mental illness, you give them the ability to label us ALL as ill...especially if it means they can disarm us..

besides, i believe a measure like this would come into direct conflict with the constitution.

Oh I agree completely that the fed shouldn't be trusted with that power. The point I was trying to make was that the mental health screenings wouldn't work. I mean, its 2014, 2 weeks after this was instituted the whole test along with the "right" answers would be online for everyone to study. Not all of the mentally ill are obviously so, most are undiagnosed and will remain so until either they do something horrible or THEY decide to tell a doctor the truth. It's not a scientific test, it can be beat by simply not being truthful.

i understand what you're saying, and while i really do feel for your state of discontentment in the lackluster round of discourse that has taken place here, i do not know that it can be bundled up so nicely in a somewhat ignorant blanket of sexist sentiment...

i don't see it as feminine reasoning...i see it as just dishonest, disingenuous, biased, and agenda-driven...it's trolling, and baiting, pure and simple...

but we are NOT here to talk about HauntWok, and his disconnect from reality...we are (allegedly) here to discuss this murder case...

perhaps we ought to focus on this, or recuse ourselves from further discussion on this topic...

1st off, i am a man.

2nd, ill just leave this here for those that think that mass knifings or mass bludgeonings are a thing.

www.fbi.gov...

Who was it that said that knives and blunt force trauma happens far more often than gun violence?

You have become numb to violence and death if you think it does not happen often. And what about school shootings? You don't see mass killings like that happen around the world on a regular basis, do you? Going to school in the US is like playing Russian roulette. Good chance you'll make it through the day, but it only takes one bullet to end your life, and almost everyone around you have access to a gun and that bullet no matter what mental state they are in. Good luck to you, student.

It must suck goat balls to live in a paranoid and aggressive society like America, where regular people feel the need to have guns stashed around the house to protect themselves against all sorts of imaginary dangers, A dumbass society where some celebrity accidentally showing a nipple on TV causes more public outrage than yet another mass shooting with the loss of innocent lives. Americans need collective therapy to calm the f''' down with the paranoia and stop the hysterical thumping of the right to be armed and kill. It's sick.

Unfortunately this is the culture that anyone that wants to if not end these occurrences at least curb them faces.

Each and every one of these cases, these senseless tragedies if one dares to speak out against them are met with extreme hostility, until the person who wants these events to stop shuts up.

They then celebrate their victory, the culture of violence they love preserved. These mass shootings are thus celebrated by the pro gun crowds who don't want the cycle of violence to end. If it did, people may see that perhaps we don't need to let people with mental health disorders have legal access to guns.

The solutions have already been applied. I explained to you on page 2 or so that gun violence has been decreasing over the last 20 years. So that "given time..." crap you just said is already occurring. You are STILL pretending like this is a real issue.
