I promise I'm not trying to be funny. I'm just trying to imagine what the prosecution is actually going to do with such evidence. They can't just say, "Here, judge. Just look at it and tell me these aren't the same!"

Again, I feel really sorry for this kid having to live out every teenager's worst nightmare. I feel sorry for him having to endure the humiliation of being forced to pose nude to provide incriminating evidence against him. I can't even imagine how traumatizing this may be for him well into his adult life. He'll probably feel nothing but guilt whenever he starts thinking of exploring his sexuality.

I don't exactly condone what he did. Yeah kids will be kids. I'm not offering an opinion either way. But I feel what he's going through is far exceeding any would-be crime here.

Once you've hit puberty you are a young adult, not a child. Many people do not understand the concept of consent. If you have someone's permission, you have consent. Once someone is a young adult, they *should* not need the permission of the parents to have sexual relations with other young adults. They should need permission to have sexual relations with regular adults however IF AND ONLY IF they are significantly older. And likewise, a child should not be considered committing a crime having sexual relations with another child. That is something for the parents to sort out in the civil system, because it *should* not be a crime.

This 15 year old is an adult in every respect except for being rendered a virtual baby from a mental perspective by the horrific US public schooling system.

Yup, theres pretty much no way this kid (who may have acted innocently at the time) should be subjected to this disgusting sexual torment.

Yes he did somthing that is illegal, so did she, who is to say she didnt force herself on him? (not that im saying that is the case)

Certainly giving children erections and photographing them to prove a pedophilia case is just insane, even leaving the mental scarring issue out of it for a second.

This is just completely and utterly the most crazy thing i have heard all year.

Two wrongs don't make a right.

I'm sure we'll be re-writing a lot of rules in our lifetime.

People still think the police haven't gone over the edge? So a kid making a selfie is producing child porn. I think there are some real child porn perps out there that they could be searching for. This must be easy pickings.

Most adults seem to have delusional selective memory issues in my experience lol. They just do not remember what it was like to be a kid or teenager.

Not too long ago my first love was talking to me about her daughter. She is 13 and it turns out even though her parents thought she was too young to date or be in love, and forbidden to see "that guy", she caught her sneaking off to see him anyways. She couldn't understand at all how her daughter could do such a thing.

So I said something like "Well remember back when you were 15 and too young to date, and I was "that guy"? Why did you sneak off to see me all the time?" She changed her approach, and it turned out after they got over the fact their daughter was growing up, and got to know the guy, he was not so bad afterall lol.

I have the opinion that kids arnt taught laws in school, so how the hell are they even meant to know.

I know ignorance is not an exception but come on, theres probably 50 laws i dont even know i could break, seriously, law men, leave those kids alone (or at least cut them a break). You do a bad thing when you dont know any better as a youngster and you are forever a criminal, just doesnt sound right. The poor lad didnt kill any babies or blow up a bus stop, not that im saying what he did was innocent, but come on, a few teenagers send a few pics and suddenly everyone has to get naked and branded a criminal for life? WTF?

I had girlfriends before i was technically 'of age' and could have quite easily gone too far in the laws eyes (now im pretty damned glad we didnt as tempting as it was for the both of us).

Annnnddd it just keeps getting even MORE ridiculous! This is an issue for parents to handle. Not the courts, not the police, and CERTAINLY NOT A HOSPITAL! They could cause the kid permanent damage. He's 17! I doubt he has any trouble become erect.

The wind blowing was sufficient for me back in the day lol. But then again, I never had to "perform" in front of an audience of authoritarian nutjobs ready to snap a picture either.

It seems as though we've switched from "The punishment is too great for the crime," (even though we don't know what the punishment is) to the poor boy is being tortured.

While I call that a small win for sanity, we still have to get rid of the foolishness of the torture allegation. Really, the sensationalism, and the idea that the show must not be interrupted by reason, makes this as fun for me as any other circus.

"The enforced sexual arousal is sexual abuse is torture." Is there no one here who can engage in a meaningful conversation?

"OK, son, roll up your sleeve, you'll just feel a little prick. (Sometimes I crack myself up.)" Is this stage one of torture or some kid getting a flu shot? No way to tell.

"Hey! I'm getting a little hard!" Oh, sure. That is real torture. I can hear the agonized screaming from here.

"Well, kid, you took a picture of it. A judge says we get to take a picture of it, too. Nobody will see it outside of the lawyers, the judge, and the evidence technician here to take the picture. You're a minor, it'll be sealed."

"Oh the horror! I'd rather be water boarded. I'd rather have my nails pulled out than have a picture taken when I'm like this. Why don't you just kill me? Oh. Uhhhh... you've already taken it? Oh, OK see ya."

Since rational thought hasn't worked yet . . .

I'm hoping that this will mark another small win for sanity.

Sane? I hope you never have children, any parent that would agree to putting their kids through something like that is a complete nutcase. If it was your son or daughter, you would be OK with it? I sure as hell wouldn't.

Completely agree.

Its one thing to give a "sample" behind closed doors, its quite another to be deliberately aroused by adults while "underage" and then be photographed.

Admit just reading that sounds just all kinds of wrong.

This sounds like somthing from a horror book rather than reality.

Again, what in the world are you talking about? There is a court issued warrant. It doesn't matter if the parents love or hate the idea.

This is past the stage where the parents could have stopped this. If they really thought this was a horrible life-ending experience they would go to the kid and say:

"Son, we know you did it, you know you did it, the world knows you did it. Go to the judge, plead guilty, and ask for mercy. If you keep fighting this, the judge's warrant will most likely stand, and the photos will happen. Your call, which of the two is worse?"

Hardly any, if the criminal justice system has its way. You know what the product of the criminal justice system is, right? "Criminals." It hasn't been justice in 30+ years. The idea is to get you into the system young, and bleed you dry in registration fees, classes, piss-tests, and other assorted neo-fascist nonsense. That's where the money is. The legal system took a page from the Tobacco company play-book, and started hooking em' young.

Really? After holding your own so well in this thread, you choose to play the Voice Crying In The Wilderness card? I get what you're doing, but my thought on the circus comment: I'll gladly be a part of your circus, if you'll always remember that at some time in the future, you're likely to become a part of mine.

Are you kidding me? How is that not rape?

And no Charles, you can't have sex with a 15 year old girl in Virgina and not be charged.

The age of consent in Virginia is 18, with a close in age exception which allows teenagers aged 15, 16 and 17 to engage in sexual acts, but only with a partner younger than 18.

Really Charles, I've avoided conversations in these threads because find your inability to find boundaries in the context of sexual expression disturbing.

ETA: Yes the girl should be charged as well, since it was her mother that brought the charges against the young man in the first place.

Dear BuzzCory,

I apologize. I'm sorry, it's one of my several faults. After a while I lose my patience and let go. It's an embarrassment and I'm glad you called me on it.

Let me tell you a secret, don't let anyone know it. In my mind ATS is worse than useless if it becomes a pit for people to yell at each other. It doesn't have to be Plato's Academy, but I hope for people who will read what some one has written, think about it, make a relevant reply, in order to further understanding and knowledge.

Some threads and posters are very refreshing and informative, some are slogs through angry people who would rather not discuss anything. I suppose I should walk away more quickly, but I have some knowledge in this area and would like to offer it.

There are posters I treasure. There are some I avoid at all costs.

Thanks for talking me down. I'll buy the next round, OK?

With respect,
Charles1952

Judge Lisa M. Baird is the presiding judge, that has as of now not signed off on that ridiculous warrant. I would link to her government contact info, but it would probably be removed like the email of the DA office was earlier. It's public info, google will point you toward her contact number and email in no time, should you wish to communicate you feelings about such a disgusting warrant.

Just when you think they can't pile on more stupid, they do.

Shouldn't they arrest them selves afterward for breaking one of their child laws.
