A Manassas City teenager accused of “sexting” a video to his girlfriend is now facing a search warrant in which Manassas City police and Prince William County prosecutors want to take a photo of his erect penis, possibly forcing the teen to become erect by taking him to a hospital and giving him an injection, the teen’s lawyers said. A Prince William County judge allowed the 17-year-old to leave the area without the warrant being served or the pictures being taken — yet

Keep in mind that police have already taken photographs of the teen's private parts after arresting him and holding him in juvenile jail to await charges. Good grief, how many pictures of a teenage boy's penis does one police department need?

I see this as a serious problem. Again and again, stupid laws, passed to "protect the children", are being used as weapons against the very children they are supposedly meant to protect. A 17 year old and a 15 year old sending each other naughty pictures and videos, probably not the smartest or most responsible thing to do, but should we be arresting kids and putting them in the same category as someone that raped or molested a 5 year old?

The sheer stupidity of parents, police, and prosecutors alike astounds me again and again.

Officers should be arrested and the county indicted for production and facilitation of child pornography. And the gavel should be leveled on them firmly and w a purpose. Period. Full stop .

God, I'm so lucky this level of crazy didnt come into being until after my school years.

If you found somebody's camera back in high school it was required that you snapped a pic of your junk before putting it back or returning it.

To think of the hundreds of underage dick pics we put onto film between the ages of 12-17.

Lumping pranks or mutual sexting in with exploitation of a minor or sexual assault is just insane.

So are they doing a "mug shot" of his penis?

How ridiculous is this crap? I would fight this just on principle....waste the city's money.

What's even better is they accuse him and attempt to charge him w a sexual crime while perpetrating an even more heinous crime

There was an episode of "King of Queens" where Doug does that when the bride and groom supply disposable cameras at their wedding. It wasn't sexual assault in that episode, it was comedy.

I hope this kid has a good lawyer that reads ATS threads!

I swear, daily I look for hidden cameras to see if I somehow got inadvertently signed up to some twisted surprise reality show or something. I feel more often than not that I have slipped into the twilight zone.

You know what's even worse about all this nonsense? With the advent of uploading pretty much every photo you ever take to the internet, all the pics you took of yourself naked while underage can be labeled as child pornography when you are overage despite them being of yourself. And it's not like you can delete them off the internet once they are there. We all know, once it is uploaded, it takes an act of god (or the government and they aren't always completely successful) to scrub it off.

This demands more swear words than the dictionary currently holds. All directed at this crazy police department.

A 17 year old screwing a 15 year old is not a sexual crime. What is even more screwed up is that next year the same couple have to stop having sex or the now 18 year old kid will have his life ruined. If it is not already.

This society has lost it's collective minds. So freaking glad I am not a kid these days, I would be in prison...

Actually most (if not all) states have laws on the books for cases where a couple who is underage and one of them reaches 18 can still have sex legally without prosecution. Depending on the state there is like a 2 or 3 year buffer for sex with minors after reaching adulthood.

You know that's not really true. There are things that I saw or found on the internet years ago that I can not find now.

I played doctor, (it was fun), but it was always a 'secret'. I didn't broadcast my antics around the neighbourhood.

People really make me wonder what they're thinking.

Well that is somewhat of a relief. Being nearly 50 years old precludes me from having had to worry about such things. However when I was 18? Oh man.........

Todays kids are screwed. I wonder how many will make it to adulthood without getting arrested.....

The internet is a FAR different entity then it was years ago. You should know that. For one, the cloud didn't exist years ago.
