Star's missing from threads completely ?

Just a quick thread.

I have noticed in some threads i have commented on star's are completely disabled.(they do not show at all given or not)

It has nothing to do with the age of the threads either, am i the only one who has experienced this ?

I just thought this rather strange and wondered what on earth was going on ?

I'd give you a star to show that I am also experiencing this issue, but... well... Yeah.

There isn't a star function in Introductions and BB&Q. I think that's the only 2.

You're not alone. Some certain sub-forums (this one included) have the star system disabled. Much like the Posse Comitatus board has restrictions placed upon it as well.

I'm sure someone who's been around longer will be around shortly to help explain better than I.

Well, after intense and prolonged investigation, I managed to find the very next thread after yours, and clicked on the star. It lit up. If you hurry, you can find it there still shining brightly. But hurry before they steal it away.

The stars disappear from closed threads too.

I have a different problem relating to stars. I realize that certain forums are star disabled, but in other threads where I have given someone a star for a post that I thought was well written or had a good point or whatever - I've come back later and noticed that the star I gave is no longer there. Someone, for example, who posted a comment had like 2 stars. I gave the post a star, bringing the total to 3 stars for said post. Come back to the same post later and my star is missing. I can click on the post to "re-star" it, come back again later and my star is gone again.

I made a note of one specific post and my disappearing star and came back on the following day and my star was still gone - so "re-starred" the post yet again and a few minutes later my star is gone again!

Not that my one little star is of any consequence whatsoever in the grand scheme of things, but what's up with that?
