It's an unlikely tale of three cities that begins in Damascus, winds through Washington, D.C., and ends tragically in a Havana jail. Its key characters seem drawn from a Cold War espionage thriller, amateurish spies stuck in yet another feckless plot to overthrow the Cuban regime.

...

Why Elias? Why Cuba? Because, in yet another odd twist, Elias was a high official in the Freemasons, the centuries-old, secretive Protestant organization with a long history in Cuba, when right-wing ideologues in the USAID decided to take another run at overthrowing the Communist regime.

Article Continues: www.newsweek.com...

You've probably seen Elias in a number of recent TV documentaries on Freemasonry, I think he is with Naval Lodge in Washington DC area.

I really wish freemasonry had the power you and watchy think it does.

I could be ruler of Dunn! Like Yertle the Turtle, I could command all that I see. (two farms and a hog pen.)

I really hope people are not convinced by this. 1) Being a Mason doesn't mean every act we do is Masonic or by the order of other Masons. 2) This article mixed up terms and phrases. 3) Freemasonry is not a Protestant organization, but FreemasonryWatch is a pro-Catholic fundamentalist site. 4) Akram is a Past Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of DC. 5) What was the point of this article? To defame Elias? It seems a whole lot about nothing as it didn't show Elias had really tried anything.

I think that is Watchy, or at least a sycophantic, spamming reader of that site.

I could be ruler of Dunn!

Wow, almost like winning the tallest midget contest.

Um. we prefer the term "vertically challenged".

Or you could liken that to a drinking contest with Blatz beer. (could there ever be a real winner?)

The Porcelain Throne would be the clear winner.

I used google and got it, but a Pink Floyd reference was the best I could do on short notice. My bad.
