unfortunately the governor of my home state is one of them, and I also posted information about how his imposition of Dominionist dogma backfired. I am relieved to see that he (Brownback) is now probably going to be ousted because of those ham-fisted failures.

Which was for his 'failed Libertarian policies'. Hopefully more people move towards this platform which boils down to, 'stay out of my business'.

I hope so. Colorado was looking like a free state until their new stupid gun laws.

The answer is cooperative loving solutions instead of the fear-based hateful solutions.

You're right! Social justice, and care for all. Including decent wages, housing, food, clean water, health care, and education for ALL.

Permission not to be homeless? LOL!! Many states have made it ILLEGAL to be homeless.

I'm so sick of people projecting onto me their lame assessments of my education, my background, my ideology, and my experience.
it is only because your ideology permeates everything you write to the point we feel we need to clarify for you how hypocritical you come across. Everything you post has presuppositions that guide your every expressed thought. It seems you perceive yourself in a way that is contradictory to how you actually put things in practice through print. So, you may be sick of it because we just do not buy into it. You just are not the person you want us to believe you say you are. We read what you type and easily draw other conclusions. Its you, not us. You dont like how we see you?

You say that "A" is the reality. I'm demonstrating that THE OPPOSITE OF "A" IS THE REALITY.

Oop! You got me, I'm going to respond here, one more time.

Yes, I say that "A" is the reality. These people exist, and they are gaining power, and they want to impose Evangelical biblicalism on the entire country in the areas of

Government
Religion
Family
Education
Media
Arts & Education
and BUSINESS.

They say it themselves. Look them up. YOU are derailing the thread into an Agenda 21 diatribe. But at least you are showing us all how "you and your cohort" behave when threatened. Not very appealing or "charismatic." And you think it would be a "good" thing for your type to take over everything and call us all ignoramus, illiterate, damned, Satanist boobs who do nothing but "blather"?

I don't.

Now, it's best if we desist from addressing one another. You've made your point (mostly unwittingly), and insulted FAR too many members for me to take you as a serious correspondent.

People always talk about the Christian Crusades or the Dark Ages and power/greed and land grab was what that was all about under a disguise of religion. Even with that we are talking 5 million died over 500 years, and we can just look at something like Pol Pot who in an anti-religious way killed 2.5 million in a few years using extremely heinous acts, or Stalin who outlawed religion and killed 40 to 70 million in a few short years, or The Chinese that killed 100 million as they went into their industrial age at the cost of lives, we can even look at WWI and WWII and see what happens....

Speaking of the Dark Ages, we look at religion back then and say, boy that was a heinous time to live under religion, but you need to understand that religion was the best moral foundation they had back then and non-religious events were 10 times worst.

Man will be man, so be careful what you wish for..... You might regret it really realizing just how bad humans can be. You are gay, we all know, so I would like to ask you how would you like to live in Russia today in their very non-religious environment?

ABSOLUTELY INDEED.

However, I'd add that RELIGION is man in charge of RELIGIOUS ISSUES.

Christ died for RELATIONSHIP with the FATHER and stood in FIERCE HOSTILE STANCE

AGAINST RELIGION . . . particularly as demonstrated by the pharisees.

RELIGION will virtually always be or turn deadly.

As the GLOBALIST satanic religion will abundantly demonstrate once more overtly in power . . . and already demonstrates overmuch with their genocidal depopulation methods and schemes.

BTW, Buzzy, I do confess . . . that's a very clever way to try and remove a vocal opposition from your thread.

AND it is PERFECTLY reasonable to say that THE OPPOSITE of the OP contentions is more the case; much more the operative reality around the globe as well as in the USA.

. . . and to articulate how and why. If that's not kosher on any ATS threads . . . then you must be insisting on exclusively enjoying the sound of one hand clapping.

Is the religious right responsible for free speech zones?

Is the religious right responsible for a mandate ordering people to purchase a product?

Not yet.

But when they get the power they want, they will shut down ALL free speech that is not Evangelical stuff, and will mandate everyone own and read a Bible for an hour a day. Also, they will want to come to your home, neighborhood, town and declare what "demons" are possessing it, and YOU. Because, you know...they know.

And only THEY can save us.

Good points, beez. Like you said earlier, I hope this is much ado about nothing.

That's not what he did, though.
Did you read the blurb I posted about him? He's not even "under cover" - he gutted the social infrastructure, removed taxes, and otherwise bankrupted the state, as well as promoting the exclusion of evolution in schools.

Don't ya just love it when a spirited debate between reasonable people spirals into surrealism and borderline psychosis.
For shear "out there" entertainment, ATS is the place to be.

All my friends at our office are now addicted. Facebook now languishes in cyber purgatory.

You're combining my responses to you in a way that makes me appear I said something I didn't, wish I could say I was shocked. I'll summarize my own posts in order to provide clarity. You are urging people to read webpages that only serve to blind you and strip you of your critical thinking skills. You have a page that posts several quotes from various leader type people from history through present, they are cherry picked quotes taken out of the context of their larger statements or speeches mixed with a bunch of emotive buzzwords strung in idiotic phrases.

Well, no, and therein lies the rub. Other than some silly blowhard guys on TV, the religious right has really done between jack and squat to adversely affect my life (with exception of the aforementioned bloody mary on Sunday morning issue.)

"Progressives" on the other hand...

So lowering taxes and reducing spending is bad and is the purview of the religious right? The only thing that was religious of all of those examples was the evolution in school issue.

I did, and anyone who positions themselves as a Libertarian and then defects from that position deserves to be voted out. The evolution piece is troubling but I am all for lowering taxes and cutting the size of government.

Actually, if that is the case, you sound more Jesusy than any of the other people raving in this thread! And that's a good thing.

LIKE I HAVE SAID to everyone who has assured me this is an exaggerated situation, and that things are more secular than ever - I say "GOOD". IT NEEDS TO STAY THAT WAY.

As far as "clever" - I don't intend to tolerate any further your berating, ridiculing, demeaning, or defaming vocabulary - toward me or anyone else. Clean it up, or take it with you elsewhere.

do.not.blame.this.on.catholics or muslims or protestants or jews as a people group. it is not their fault. the fault is the trio of power which is 1) the religious leaders -- the popes, 2) the military and secret service leaders -- the jesuits and 3) the financial wizards -- secular corporate socialism (which is globalist). the popes sold out the catholic people a long time ago.

I think you hit several nails squarely on their heads.

Congrats.

You put it much better than I have.

I still don't personally know how much the Vatican is in charge. imho, it is as likely that they are AS MUCH STOOGES as the White House and Congress are.

The Jesuits . . . wellll . . . mayb they are closer to the top. The top? I don't know.

The top is certainly satanic. They seem to be, likewise. Perhaps you are right.

But their oligarchy will NOT be the least bit "Christian" regadless of the OP's rantings.

Uhhhhh . . . "clever" was a compliment! It ranks fairly high in my value system.

Sigh.

I do think I've avoided using personal pronouns . . . like "you" rather successfully. And, I think I've stated my perspectives about values and groups and behaviors etc in open-ended ways.

Most folks could likely have reasonably felt free to consider themselves members or not members of whatever such group with complete freedom.

I did not assign anyone to any particular group. And, I have included open-ended possibilities of unknown other groups.

religious right is taking over our government?

illegal to teach Christianity in public schools.

christian monuments have been being taken down from government building the last 20 years.

The acceptance of gays and gay marriage is on the rise and will probably be completely legal within the next 5 to 10 years.

pot is becoming more legal and the ban will probably be completely lifted within 5 years.

yup looks like Christians are really taking over....

We are a Corporate Theocracy now:

Sure are!

Cause those corporate products called contraception, and birth control pills have been deemed 'human rights'.

Anyone who doesn't think they should be are the new 'infidels'.
