Yet, you're not a worshiper yourself. You stated above that you're a non-believer. Again, what's your angle? By these verses themselves, you're damned with the rest of us. Why are you arguing so hard for the team that's telling you you're going to hell?

I said I'm not a righteous Christian... But does that mean I don't understand the teachings of Religion? I can argue for who ever I choose too just like you argue for Gay Marriage.

It's of no moment to me what you call Jesus; if faux-Hebrew makes you feel good, go for it.

Linguistically, the name is most equivalent to the English name "Joshua."

Since you hold Him in such reverence, regardless of what we call Him, why don't you go read what He said about the subject rather than depending on what you've heard others say he said. Start with the verses I posted above.

Aside from turning water into wine in Cana, that's about all He had to say on the subject.
I have read the Bible numerous times, and word studies for many years. I understand your references even though you certainly do not. He taught on marriage. How did your google miss that? You sure are touchy. I guess you rely on intimidation. I try to engage with the person. I am trying to work with the points you are making, well, attempting to make. You just seem to lack context where you feel google supports your fragmented efforts. When it comes to understanding what the Bible or meanings I can help. I try to stay in focus when using scripture and unlike what you use it for, I try and glean truths from it.

Right, I'm the one that wants to pick a fight. I injected myself into discussions that YOU were having on topic. Right.

You dismiss thousands of pages of research merely because you believe it's wrong.

There's no context here for a reasonable discussion.

Best,

Bah, you did a google and expect me to do your work. I have done my due diligence on that specific subject and i am loaded for bear. Do not think for one moment that weak stuff passes as support for your arg and makes up for your ignorance on the subject you entered into and your misuse of the Bible. I dont are argue with google nor do i need it. I own books, lol. Crazy huh?a reply to: Gryphon66

Actually, this is what you said ... you have trouble remembering your own words sometimes:

I am not a Christian and I say that because I cannot uphold what is taught in the Bible, I'm at least honest with myself.

You're not a Christian. No waffling about "righteous" or not.

You can't follow what's in the Bible.

There's a reason for that, in my opinion, no one can. The so-called "moral code" presented therein is a mish-mash of internally contradictory, humanly impossible requirements.

But, if you're NOT a Christian (and you're NOT in your own words above), then in terms of what you are arguing for so vociferously, you're in the same boat as the gays, the thieves, the fornicators, et. al.

YOU are damned as well. YOU have been turned over by their pusillanimous God to your own sins.

I gladly left all that garbage behind me years ago. It seems that you might be able, someday, to do the same.

BUT ...

As far as what all this has to do with the OP ... the Baptist Church in Kentucky that's going to perform a same-sex marriage ... what does this have to do with that? They disagree with your interpretation of the Scriptures; they don't hold with the excruciatingly over-generalized black-and-white dictums that you're trying to place on the matter.

If you don't like it that much, go protest. Write to the editor of the Kentucky Bumbleshoot Times and make your opinions known! Stand up!

... but realize that it's your opinion, and not everyone, particularly the Pastor and Members of the church in question, agree with it.

I did a Google because your "argument" is preposterous. There are volumes and volumes of peer-reviewed scientific studies that show that what we call "homosexuality" is a multi-phasic condition based on real world considerations like genetic heritage, brain chemistry and structure, and birth order, to name a few. I gave you the Google link because that was the simplest way to clearly demonstrate that there is a multitude of real evidence that totally invalidates your simplistic and spurious claim.

You read a book that proves your point, eh? Then cite even ONE book that based in real science (i.e. as part of peer-reviewed research) that doesn't quote any Bible verses or depend on personal opinion that proves conclusively that the "causes" of homosexuality are ... any of that convoluted material you posted above.

Thanks.

Oh. Doesn't a good Muslim have to state that they are, indeed, members of the (truly) chosen people ... not to mention, give proper place to Allah and His Prophet regularly? No disrespect intended to Muslim readers.

Not a specialist on the New Testament then? That explains a lot.

Where have I claimed I'm a Muslim? That is your opinion, not something I have said. If I was I would of said I'm a Muslim.

Cool. I'd be hanging with those that Jesus did. Awesome.

Indeed, bring on the eaters and drinkers, the prostitutes and adulterers.

Keep the publicans and tax-collectors though ... they really do deserve to burn in hell ...

(Kidding on that last of course; hell is a fable.)

Dude, your the one waffling on about Christianity condoning murder when the truth is you simply cannot understand the deeper meaning of the verse. I can tell you that you deserve to die but that doesn't mean I am going to kill you unless words can kill people without actions.

Let's use this in another example.. I could be walking down the street tomorrow and across the street could be the man who murdered my daughter, I could think that person deserves to die but that doesn't mean I'm going to go over and kill him... What benefit would that be to me? I would end up in jail for murder. Actions speak louder than words... If someone is stupid enough to murder a homosexual because of that verse, then they are stupid. BTW, no-one actually murdered my daughter.

I seem to recall him flipping tables when dove dealers set up shop in his father's house. I imagine He would flip His wig if He caught 2 sodomites getting married there.

I can assure you, not even you can understand the argument you just attempted. Sorry, google is no my debating adversary. You made the claims. I called b.s. the onus is on you and not google and not your plethora of "scientists" as you call them. I only have had to use the Bible in this debate to rebuke you with it. You weild it around like a child weilds his daddies sword. You think because you can knock over some furniture you are a swordsman. You are not. You are a google bot. You so far brought nothing to the table but ad-hominum attacks pretending your fervor is justified in your vindictive rants. So far just empti words and a google, c and p. I am not here to convince you. You cannot be won. You are trying to use scripture in your need to harm those you disagree with. I think you should be called out on it using your own words and methods. Unlike you, i dont feel i need to be mean to you in rebuking you.a reply to: Gryphon66

Do you? Wow. Talking for Christ. I wish I could do that. Unfortunately that doesn't fit with Jesus MO. Damn, I hate that when it happens.
