There's no trees and no factories.
There's no people and no drug laws.
Why, people, are you leaving America to go live on the moon?
Do you think your going to escape the global meltdown and not have to toil in indentured servitude for the next 50 years?
I know the moon has no taxes or cap on income but, really people, let's all hang in here together.
I'm sure we'll work it all out somehow.

As you say, it's only a matter of time..but you might miss the boat, don't you know the most celebrated people are those that make laws, make taxes, make wars and say funny words, live off your back as they screw you and get burly..or fat or both MIBS, to beat the crap out of you, if you don't like all the aforementioned.

Screw the Moon. Why should I live on the Sun:

    It is always summer
You never need to change a light bulb
It will eventually grow larger and swallow both the Earth and Moon.
    Global warming has already happened
Plenty of room for more immigrants

I just need to find my SPF 1,000,000

Ok then.
Maybe I will be a 'pioneer' and be one of the first to relocate there.
Last I checked nothing's stoping me from blasting off from California with enough material to build a bio dome and start growing stuff right away.
Just picked up the new fresh air generator from wal mart last week. Runs on solar.

FTW I'm outta here!

Dude think this through thoroughly before you do ANYTHING.
The sun is really really really hot. Like hotter than Vegas!
You should come out with us to the moon. There's plenty of space and we need help getting the farm going!

To quote the great Sasha Baron Cohen, what if I go in winter when it's colder?

If you went up there with maybe 400 to 10000 other people, that would be a viable number to start a permanent colony. If it were built as a ring inside the rim of crater, you would be able to see the stars, Earth and Sun while still being shielded from extremes of temperature.
