Fox News viewers already are racists and Fox News feeds their hate.

Oh, really? I've watched, fairly regularly, FoxNews since they came on the air, all too many years ago...

Haven't measured myself for a white robe, and white dunce cap; and certainly don't feel any screaming urge to do anything of the sort...

That would seem to argue against your blanket statement quoted above.

I submit that such blanket statements are as biased as you accuse Fox viewers of being...

If you want to see a comparison on how Fox treats Latinos just look at their Latino website and their other websites.

Here's an article in particular that drew some attention from the headline used from two of their websites. The content of both articles discusses the same subject.

Fox News Latino headline:
latino.foxnews.com...

Obama Administration Halts Deportations for Young Immigrants

Fox Nation headline:
nation.foxnews.com...

Obama Administration Bypasses Congress, to Give Immunity, Stop Deporting Younger Illegals

Fox gives a non-inflammatory headline for the latino article, but attacks everyone in the other with the same subject matter for both.

As for my own personal opinion on immigration regarding people crossing the border between Mexico and Texas. They aren't doing so to hurt the USA. They are desperate and need help. If the USA is willing to go to war over nothing in the case of Iraq and spend trillions there killing foreigners to profit the war industry then we can spend that same money helping actual needy people in Texas crossing the border. In the latter case we'd actually get something positive out of it.

Everyone has a bias. I never claimed I didn't. If you claim to have no bias then you're being disingenuous to yourself and others.

The difference is my biases don't negatively affect others for reasons related to the color of their skin.

I really don't understand it, to be honest. I mean, I strongly dislike fox news as well. But I strongly dislike all mainstream media. The entire MSM is a big mechanism to form the context, assumptions, and norms on politics as well as many aspects of our lives. It seems that their purpose is to pre-define what is considered a 'normal' viewpoint, and then like magic almost everyone thinks that way. Not because that range of viewpoints really are the only legitimate ones, or that even really is the natural way for most people to think. But they create those norms, and then it is a self-fulfilling prophecy.

But people act like fox news SPECIFICALLY is so bad. Like anytime anyone sources fox news, people are like 'LOL yea like I'm gonna take anything fox news says seriously.' Why? I mean, it's just mainstream media...which means that there's some limit to their ability to just straight up make things up, just like any other MSM outlet, and it also means that they're going to distort thing to fit into the pre-defined narrative. Just like any other mainstream media outlet. It's slightly different, because they proclaim themselves to be 'conservative,' but that's just so that the people who consider themselves conservative have a mainstream media outlet which can condition their minds into the pre-formed mold of state-approved ideology.

My point is this. There is no reason to single out fox news specifically, as if they're just awful and all the other MSM outlets are just terrific. They're all awful. They're all trying to indoctrinate us into a pre-defined world-view, and thus they are 'bad' for free thinking. But again, this is what they all do...fox just overtly focuses on the other side of the pre-defined coin.

Everything I circled is negative news pertaining to democrats and/or the obama administration. I couldnt find any negative news concerning republicans. The proof is in the pudding my friend. Fair and balanced does not apply to foxnews. That is my problem.

And they have money. And advertisers like that.

It's a business. Filling a niche.

Sometimes older is wiser, but who cares if they have money?

This is why Fox is bad. There's the truth and the facts and there's opinion pieces about those facts. A news organization should be providing facts. Fox does not do that.

Then since you say Fox is bad...you are assuming all the others DO report facts and DON'T give opinions...right? HA-HA! Whatever happened to NOT telling that something happened, being just as much of a lie as telling something incorrectly? You know...like all the other news stations do. Not telling anyone about 1/2 the crap that is really going on because it would hurt their chosen team. Fact is...there is no news that just states facts anymore. FOX included.

The other news is reporting the same stories that fox is. Fox and other radio hosts are just banking their listeners arnt gonna turn the channel and check. I jump back and forth constantly, kinda thinking it's comical.

P.s. Your right the dems do just want immigration reform because of voters. They also pretend the word corporation is inherently evil, which is ridiculous.

But on the other side voter ID is all about stopping votes. And republicans pretend like unions and Muslims are inherently evil. Which is ridiculous.

Both sides are scum bags, but the present conservative evangelicals are more dangerous. They'll use local police forces to enforce their on personal flavor of morality while twisting science and reality to fit there agenda.

I will agree with that. Except the voter ID. Everything you do of importance, registration, purchases, etc. require ID. There is no reason a person wouldn't have ID other than not wanting anyone to know who they are. In order to vote...we need to know that you are allowed and therefore...we need to know who you are. I don't care if we give ID cards out for free once someone proves who they are...but ID should be required. IMHO.

And which one went to court and argued that they have no obligation to report the truth? They're all bad but Fox is the worst of the bunch, they deserve every bit of hate they get and more. This isn't some case where one of them is actually good. If each news network were a criminal CNN, ABC, MSNBC, CBS, and the rest would be rapists. Fox would be a child rapist. Even when they're all bad, some are more deserving of hate than others.

If you equate a child rapist to three rapists...I guess I would agree. Of course FOX is hard-hitting and stronger in their approach than the others...they are one voice among four. They have to be louder.

No they don't. It's all about market share and people seeking out opinions that confirm their beliefs. The centrists and liberals are split between several different news networks. All of the conservatives goto Fox. This is why they so utterly crush everyone else in ratings. CNN, NBC, ABC, MSNBC, CBS, and any others I'm forgetting are all competing for say 10 million viewers. Fox isn't competing with anyone for conservative viewers. That lack of competition is why they do so well.

I'm a Libritarian raised ultra conservative. All of the Media outlets are propaganda machines and they all lie to you and give you the worst case news possible to scare anger and outrage people. FOX is what I call Faux News. They have plastic smiley faced broadcasters who throw their OPINIONS around like its fact and truth. And they Demand you agree with them or they label you stupid, moronic, or uneducated and living in a fantasy world. If you look at broadcasts the networks will also highlight different words in the background to influence you subliminally when doing interviews of individuals. When someone like O'rielly screams at someone at the top of his lungs and calls them names, doesnt let them speak I tune out. Its not just O'reilly its all of them. Screaming your opinions doesnt make you right. It doesnt make me agree with you its stupid and childlike. But the average person who watchez the news all day long on plasma tvs in each room taunting politics and right left agenda are being brainwashed. Subliminal messages are being streamed on these media outlets to control your mind. And people fall for it. I fell sad for them. Most of the news now is reported to take your mind away from whats important. People need to shut their tvs off and enjoy life. Our goverment is getting more corrupt and taking advantage of every american and they are destroying our country for big corporations gains. Our medical industry is controlled by big pharma, our military is controlled by the world bank, big oil and were nothing but mercenaries for corporate gain now and arms industry. Education is on the downslide to hell. Our standard of living is going to hell and wages are not keeping most americans from living paycheck to paycheck. Government does not do whats best for the American people. People in other countries used to look up to us now they dispise us. Our debt is destroying our money value and its headed for collapse because we dont export anything anymore. We make money by going to war to support our economy. These are issues that are important. Thats why I no longer watch the news. Excuse some errors Im on a cell typing.

Yes, all mainstream news is biased, however FOX News attracts the racist, anti-science, religious extremists.

So, there's that...

Brilliant! That is the whole problem. It's like they republicans are invisible to them when republicans do something bad. It's like Fox doesn't realize the the president is only one part of government and how much power congress really has. It's like the choose to ignore the wrong doings of anyone that calls themselves a republican. why is that?

And then why are they so hateful and angry and mean...like O'Rielly, Hannity, Coulter, Limbaugh and the rest of them? Does fox just hire mentally ill people with Anger management issues that don't have a grasp on reality? Inquiring minds want to know!

Didn't say I'm not in some ways biased... Just looked again. Nope, never said it.

One of my bias' is an ever growing antipathy towards those who issue blanket statements about people with whom they may disagree...

I'm sure I have others, but for the sake of this conversation, that'll do for goin' on with...

Because the vast majority of the MSM and mainstream culture is liberal and Fox is the only thing in sight that isn't so liberal you'd have to be in a coma to miss it. If Fox goes away, liberals will basically rule the media 100% and they know it.

I think it's more than just a disagreement on politics. FOX News attracts the racists, homophobes, xenophobes, religious extremists, and anti-science crowd. There is so much ridiculousness there. This is why it's so popular. It appeals to the lowest level, and sadly, we have a lot of that here in this country. For FOX News to be successful, means a turn for the worse in humanity, and that's why people hate it. Not to mention they fought for their right to lie... Basically a HORRIBLE news station.

It's hard to look back through a thread to get information, especially one this long. This thread, however, might be worth it for you.

FOX News is the most watched network news in the country.
FOX News is the most trusted network news in the country.
FOX News was the most balanced in covering Obama's first election campaign.
FOX News was more balanced than CNN and MSNBC for global warming coverage.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

The idea that FOX won the "right to lie" or admitted they lied, in that lawsuit in 2003 appears to be completely false.

Or in other words: FOX DID NOT WIN THE "RIGHT TO LIE," NOR DID THEY ADMIT THEY LIED.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

You might want to take a look at those posts, I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Thank you. Unfortunately, a lot of people get too caught up in the Republicans vs. Democrats game that these MSM companies portray. They report what ppl read, rather than what is truly news. It is up to us to hold these companies to a moral standard. Conservatives, stop going to foxnews. Liberals, stop going to msnbc. Go to any other website. Conservatives and Liberals, be open to actually being wrong about your beliefs for once in your damn life and try to see the other sides perspective as well. Heaven forbid u might actually LEARN something from one another.

I doubt you realize it but you actually kind of have a point here. Liberals basically tend to believe anyone who isn't a liberal has no right to their own opinion. All of the people you listed may indeed be horrible people but they have a right to their own opinions. Liberals believe if you cover ugly things up they don't exist but this is patently untrue.

Anyway, Fox tends to attract anyone who doesn't like liberals because it's really the only place you won't find many of them. It's amazing that people who believe in censorship are pointing their fingers at anyone else.

If there was a halfway decent alternative to Fox that wasn't blatantly socialist/Marxist, it would attract a lot of libertarians.

What!?!? Boy, you have fallen for all the propaganda huh?

Only in right-wing world does ANYONE think people don't have a right to there opinion.... The only place that exists is in the conservative characture of liberals. Everyone has a right to say anything they want without prosecution by the state. If your advertisers and customer base leave because you say some thing stupid, that's the free market.

You mean liberals pretend ugly stuff doesn't exist like racism? Lmao

The only reason you don't like liberals, socialists and communists is because you have fallen for their bs. If you think a different economic system might be better, that doesn't mean your evil and must be desroyed. That's insane propaganda they have force fed us. It all depended on who you put in charge. King author running a dictatorship would be paradise. Hitler elected president of a capitalist country would be a disaster....was a disaster!!!

They use buzz words to play the sheeple like a fiddle.
