I do agree that is interesting. So those marks bring you to envision dozens of men holding up the stone with some type of pillars? I am trying to understand why they are there, but it doesn't change much to the overall realization that antiquity built something extraordinary, or that it was mysterious (not from this earth).

Since nobody alive was there, we have to go on a theory.

The theory is the stones were propped up using wood props placed in those indentions.

The stones in an earlier post showed "tabs" sticking out - these were used to pry on the stone with a wooden lever braced against the ground, handy when you're moving a humongous stone.

I wanted to point out that we do have written history of antiquity that tells us what happened, we just need to listen.

"These were the mighty men that were of old, the men of renown."

The bible and Sumerian literature talks about a group of around 200 gods or angels that came down from the sky onto a mountain with 12 leaders. They were referred to as giants who basically took over all of the earth. They also drank the blood of humans (wonder why ancient people sacrificed themselves?)

And began to injure birds, beasts, reptiles, and fishes, to eat their flesh one after another, and to drink their blood.

"And there we saw the Nephilim, the sons of Anak, who come from the Nephilim; and we seemed to ourselves like grasshoppers, and so we seemed to them."

Rephaim was another name for the Nephilim.

The Emim formerly lived there, a people great and many, and tall as the Anakim

Notice the "anak" from the name of one of the gods who descended on the mountain, it is all the same of what we are learning form the "annunaki most likely." Because if you refer to all of the scripture the Anakim were the ones before everyone else.

The Anakim/Anakites were a formidable race of giant, warlike people

The Israelites were killing off all the descendants of the Anakim, the mighty giants from ancient times who enslaved humans. Now this story wouldn't have as much meaning if the same thing didn't happen on the most isolated population on the other side of the world - Easter Island, where there also happens to be hundreds of many ton monoliths. The people of Easter Island ended up in war with the 'long eared' giants who forced them to live in caves. It is all recorded in history but the world powers keep it from us. The most important chapters of the dead sea scrolls are 'missing,' - no, they are just not given to the public I would not believe for a second that when the information gets crucial the source ends up 'missing.'
