Thought I'd share with you all something to laugh about....

Here we have Republicans and Democrats with joined hands *cough* and singing “We Shall Overcome” [oh the irony there] during Tuesday’s Congressional Gold Medal ceremony — and it was as awkward as it sounds

Video of the ceremony, awarding Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King Congressional Gold Medals, quickly went viral on social media, with most people stating how “cringe-worthy” the moment was

These people remind me of kindergartners who are afraid of touching their classmates for fear of getting the cooties not to mention unwilling to participate!!!!

Seriously, you guys could have at least tried to show more enthusiasm
Well, Pelosi tried albeit phony as all get out

MLK would have been greatly disappointed

Amerika's finest.....time to boot them ALL out!!!

That was pretty uncomfortable. I did notice the Republicans aren't singing, just swaying uncomfortably... Maybe they aren't familiar with the song...

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

Once upon a time, there was a little bird who refused to fly south for the winter. His friends tried to convince him that winter was coming, but the little bird remained steadfast and remained behind. The weather turned bitter cold and the little bird began to shiver. After awhile he realized he had made a mistake, so he headed south. But he was too late. As he flew, ice formed on his wings. Finally he fell to earth in a cow pasture, freezing and exhausted and convinced he was dying. As he lay there freezing to death, a cow came by and defecated on him. The manure warmed his body and wings and the bird realized he would live. He became so happy, he began to sing. A cat was passing by and heard the singing. The cat dug the bird out of the pile and ate him.

There are three morals to this story:

1. Not everyone who defecates on you is necessarily your enemy.

2. Not everyone who gets you out of the manure is necessarily your friend.

3. And if you ever find yourself in a cowpie, don't sing.

(Variations of this story can be found a multiple of places FTR)

That's very nice, but I don't understand its relevance to what I said.

the quote that made me LOL

It would of been better if they were standing in six inches of water while holding a high voltage cable on either end.

It would have been more entertaining if they had president Obama leading them from the front with his hands and his amazing singing voice.

The relevance IS.

All congress does is snip on us.

Yeah that is 'uncomfortable' most of the time.

They claim to be our 'friend'. They are not.

That is the 'moral' of that story.

As that saying snip rolls down hill.

That Capitol Hill.

Hmmm... Still don't see how that relates to what I said (it's not important, I suppose), but I agree with you.

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

It was my apparently misguided and long way around the barn anecdote to explain why the Republicans weren't singing, in response to your observation of same.

Hey, I can't bat 1.000.
