They were able to identify where the UAV was, and access the GPS, which was the first layer of communications. They made it think it was somewhere
else, and it crashed. The GPS was always the weak point of the communications system.
The Sentinel was never a top of the line platform. It filled a hole until another platform was ready, by providing a cheap, off the shelf UAV.
What makes you think that top of the line UAVs don't have some surprises of their own now?
