Under the light of the full moon and on friday the 13th even.
How well does that bode?

Wiki

The Vizsla is a dog breed originating in Hungary, which belongs under the FCI group 7 (Pointer group). The Hungarian or Magyar Vizsla are sporting dogs and loyal companions, in addition to being the smallest of the all-round pointer-retriever breeds. The Vizsla's medium size is one of the breed's most appealing characteristics as a hunter of fowl and upland game, and through the centuries the Vizsla has held a rare position among sporting dogs – that of household companion and family dog.

The Vizsla is a natural hunter endowed with an excellent nose and an outstanding trainability. Although they are lively, gentle mannered, demonstrably affectionate and sensitive, they are also fearless and possessed of a well-developed protective instinct.

The whole thing makes me want to drive up there and join the
search. But I wouldn't be lurking around the place at night,
especially after the way you just put it. Indeed terrifying.

Stay home, he probably fell down in on of many mine shafts in the area.
Also could have been his dog led him to a raptor.

I thought about that early on. I don't believe in the 13th bad luck. Should have been decent light late. Full moon was actually the 12th and early on the 13th (thurs night/fri early)

edit:

which means that night a nearly full moon would rise about an hour after sunset.

Hi Randy:

Actually, that great summation in my post above, was by JackofBlades in a reply to me. Just want to make sure he gets the credit.

I responded using my iphone and it didn't apply the quotes correctly - sorry.

Also, back on topic, I wonder if the authorities ever use hypnosis with the witnesses to these events?

Well it says full on my calendar and I remember seeing it coming
up over the hills here in aplle valley. It looked huge. I even
commented to my wife on it.

nd that is truly terrifying.

I know this is 'out there' so far that it doesn't really register on a legitimate scale of plausibility...but
Doesn't this have an eerily similar feel to "Predator"?

Thought about that also in the respect of this
guy being scared out of his mind by something
he just blocked out of his mind. Fortunately
that is not an issue that is normally effected by
time. As per how the mind works, that source
can be tapped anytime in the future.

Do you/anyone know where the dog was seen on the two separate occassions in relation to either the original camp site (near Sespe Creek) or where they were when the dog initially bolted (somewhere along the creek)?
If the dog was in relatively 'the same' area on each sighting...I can't imagine the search parties focusing elsewhere...

I saw an article that stated it was a mile to 1.5 miles, north to northwest of the camp.

Shall I scan my calendar !

So we have a confliction accordingly. I'll buy
your info. But the damn thing was huge and very bright
and you can't take that away.

Also my good man, the 13th is all perception. I lost both my
parents to a car accident in 83. May friday the 13th. Just say'n.

And no one better add 8+3 either.

I used the US Naval Observatory calculation. It was 23:12 hours here. EDT or UTC would have been the 13th. Where was the calendar manufactured?

On the evening of the 13th the 99% disk would still be vary bright.

Doesn't matter but I always go with what seem the best sources. Call it how you see it.

Do you think they might actually with hold a lot of pertinent
info to sort of cut down on the abilities of the cyber sleuth?

Thanks for your attention BTW Gravel. I applaud your participation
here and petition the mods to do the same.

I think the level of reporting isn't great any more. A story like this requires prying info out of police which in today's would is always hard.

I would think a reporter would go to Byers (but he might not be available) or the fishermen in order to get some facts.

Has anyone done a search on Byars yet? From everything I've
read he is devastated and heart broken at loss of his friend.
I find it hard not to sympathize negating all suspicions. I can
only imagine how horrible he must feel. Every waking moment
the stress would be extraordinary.
