Elon Musk: I'll put HUMAN BOOTS on MARS by 2026

Watch out NASA here comes Elon Musk.

Electric car and rocket tycoon Elon Musk says that he'll put the first human boots on Mars well before the 2020s are over – and says he'll float his SpaceX company on Earth-bound stock exchanges once the interplanetary mission gets underway.

"I'm hopeful that the first people could be taken to Mars in 10 to 12 years, I think it's certainly possible for that to occur," he told CNBC. "But the thing that matters long term is to have a self-sustaining city on Mars, to make life multi-planetary."

If there is anybody that can make this happen, it's Elon Musk. He's got the vision and the drive.

Looks like the Mars One mission has some competition to contend with.

Oddly enough the two plans are within a few years of each other.

With more and more advances in technology every day, i say not only is it possible;

They will succeed.

I also firmly believe that undertakings like these, will help the economy by creating more jobs in the private sector.

O2 recyclers, communications, computers, vehicles and a whole new array of textiles for the space age.

The future is here.

Between this and Elon Musk's statement this week about how he plans to release the details of all his patents to make electric car technology open source, I must say he has impressed me; or at least peaked my interest. His plans to float this future company on the stock exchange also instead of maintaining private ownership perhaps shows a new breed of "People's Entrepreneur" if you will. Hopefully electric cars will now go the way of android because of his actions. I hope he sticks to it and I wish his endeavours the best of success, I'll be keeping an eye on Elon Musk as he seems a very interesting character, unusual in our ordinarily selfish capitalist society... where most business owners are sociopaths as opposed to socialist in ideology ...

Get bill Gatesand Warren Buffet on board and they could do it in 5 years

I though mars one was useing Space X?

So two projects are likely intertwined.

Either way mars is a big planet there room to share.

Gates and Buffet only do what's profitable for Gates and Buffet. If they gave have a stink or just half of their money that they could never spend in a full lifetime, let alone their last years/decades on earth, we could have rebuilt industrial production in US borders at living wages, revitalized entire areas of the country, and led to more visionaries who want to grow up to be engineers and scientists.

Instead, they each pledged a billion to Africa.

To open up new markets to brands they own...

They wouldn't give away a dollar unless they could make at least two almost instantly.

Does that mean he is going to strap a pair boots on the next rover mission to mars?

Kidding , Part of me is excited but the other part makes me wonder how long before we start to screw up mars by placing weapons on it ?.

I like to have seen him send a private rover with remote controls that the public can control. I think most of ATS would pick up the tab for Arken to get his shot.

I'll be keeping an eye on him, too. Geniuses are eccentric, but you cant tell me the CIA didnt put a slow drip of Lysergic on Howard Hughes' water softener in order for him to go bat# overnight.

I guess the missions could be hand in hand. Would cut down the cost of missions when combined together.

He doesn't sit around wondering "if" or debating impediments - he figures it out and gets it done. So, if he says he will, I'm inclined to take him seriously.

Too be fair if I had billions sitting in a bank account Id want to do something epically fun with it not just hoard it in a bank guarded by some crusty old bank managers....

All this is well and good but consider that we don't have a viable way of getting to mars quickly. Either we need a LENR (cold fusion) break through or some advanced form of propulsion. Just getting astronauts to Mars for a 4 year mission does not make much sense when most things can be done without humans.

Gates and Buffet are scum bag progressives looking to usher in the new world order. They could care less about helping mankind they are looking to enslave mankind.


Buffet is far worse then Gates in my book at least Gates employes many,many people. Buffet is the scum of the earth. Men like these should not be worshiped.



Now Musk on the other hand is a real man of the people. We should have men like him leading the way in politics also. I would vote for him for president. He is the real deal.
