Not the size of the rhino in the fight, but the size of the fight in the rhino

Had this video sent to me and thought it was rather interesting.
Shows a baby rhino that is able to help his madre fend off an attack from a larger male rhino.
Even giving chase after the male runs away

I tend to believe that the narrator of that clip has no inkling about animal behaviors when it comes to a horny male (no pun intended!) wanting to mate with a local and available female. I must assume that some other instinct awoke within him and not a deep fear of being beaten in battle. I think he just realized that momma was not in the mood and would take his business elswhere.

I would strongly suggest that nobody "F" with any rhino big or small.
But after reading the OP and seeing the video, that little guy sure does love his Momma.
Good boy!
Very few things in life one can trust, dogs, Momma and sometimes other things, but definitely dogs and Moms.

She isn't much smaller than him. I wonder if she was running because she thought it would be more likely to save her calf?

Had that been bears, the female (evenly sized) could most likely have pwned the male bear.

HAH! You jogged my memory... Kipling! When the Himalayan peasant meets the he-bear in his pride,
He shouts to scare the monster, who will often turn aside.
But the she-bear thus accosted rends the peasant tooth and nail.
For the female of the species is more deadly than the male.
