The Rijksmuseum museum in Holland had an idea: Let's bring the art to the people and then, hopefully, they will come to see more - at the museum.
They took one Rembrandt painting from 1642, Night Watch and brought to life the characters in it, placed them in a busy mall and the rest you can see
for yourself!
I don't know if we could pull it off here in the states. Notice the muskets at 0:29? Most American mall patrons might consider this a terrorist
act, pull out their own guns and start shooting.
I'd like to think that anyone sufficiently bright to get a gun permit would recognize the period costumes and realize that something special and
probably entertaining or related to advertising was afoot.
