Armed Man Climbs Onto Roof of House After Freeway Pursuit

A man armed with what appeared to be a semi-automatic rifle ran into a neighborhood and climbed onto the roof of a house at the end of a high-speed pursuit that extended from near downtown Los Angeles into the San Fernando Valley.

The man is wanted in connection with a criminal threats report. Details regarding the threats were not immediately available, but police told NBC4 they received the threat report "a few days ago."

I wonder what the "terrorist threat" is. This is weird.

They keep repeating it on the live feed. Just wondering if this will be another "patriot" thing, although the definition of "terror threat" has become quite broad nowadays.

I believe the gunman is accused of a terrorist threat against a person some number of days ago. Details unknown.

NRA should be showing up soon with a gift basket of ammo for the suspect. Just a suspect! --that deserves full access to guns and ammo per the greatest amendment and that other stuff yada yada.

I agree. The word "terrorist" has changed meaning in the US.

They said it may be linked to domestic abuse. Seems a lot different than terrorism.

Um...

A criminal threat is not necessarily a terrorist threat.

For example, a threat against a rival gang, or a threat against a rival in criminal enterprise, is NOT a terrorist threat, but a threat which is to do with MONEY, with POWER, with INFLUENCE in an area, focused on criminal cartels and networks, and how they function, and the dynamic of the hierarchy of that system.

Terrorist threats, no matter how they are defined in law, are those which are made specifically for the purpose of altering the political landscape in a nation or state, by way of force and fear of force.

There is a significant difference between these two things, and I think it is important to draw clear lines, by way of good use of language and terminology, so that we do not accidentally conflate the two.

In the world today, in America. Anyone who is mentally unstable and has a gun is called a terrorist.

Though a real terrorist with a jihad to carry out, can go onto a military base and kill many people, while yelling praise to Allah...now that is workplace violence.
