Your joking right, ATI has been a step behind nvidia from the beginning. As far as I know the best ATI car is the 9700 pro. This doesn't even come clos to the nvidia FX. As a matter of fact it can't keep up with the Geforce 4 4600Ti.

Dude you obviously dont know computers. ATI is the current King in 3d cards. The 9700Pro completely destroys any GF4 Card. And it outperforms the Geforce FX 5600 EZ. Now with the 9800Pro out with 256mb of Ram Ati has the fastest card out there right now. Ask anyone who knows computer gaming and they'll tell you im right. Oh and later this year the R400 (Radeon 9900Pro) will come out and Nvidia will be forced to play catch up again.

Now when the Geforce FX 5900 comes out then Nvidia will be back on top. But not for long.

I have used a FX 5900 and it is bloody fast. As for Radeon I wouldn't even bother. Obviously you think you know a lot more than you do.

Where did you get an FX 5900?? I havent seen them for sale anywhere. I checked in NewEgg.com where I buy all my parts and they havent received them yet. I also checked on all the major pc parts retailers online and they dont have the cards for sale yet. How much did it cost you? I have a friend who wants one but I haven't been able to find an online parts retailer that has them yet.

A friend writes for a PC gaming magazine and recieved one so he could write an article. The magazine gave him the card after he had finished the article.
I am not a big gamer as I never have much time, but I head over to his house occasionally to check out the latest.

My PC is an Athlon 2.7 Ghz with :

HD 40 Gigas 7200 rpm

Athlon XP 2100+ 1.8Ghz
256 Mb DDR RAM
Maxtor 80 gig hd, 7200 RPM
4 2.5 gig hard drives utilizing PCI IDE card
PNY GeForce 2, 32 mb
10/100 ethernet
17 inch gateway EV700 monitor
48x Internal CDRW
Windows 2000 Advanced Server

I just finished custom building my computer about a month or so ago. I need a new processor fan due to the fact that AMD stock fans for the 2100+ have too low RPM to sufficiently cool the processor. I had to underclock to 1.3 Ghz just to be able to run the computer.

As for video cards, doesn't the GeForce FX have a severe noise problem when compared to the Radeon 9700 pro? I've never actually seen one in use but that what others have told me.

I'd really like to upgrade my video card, but there just isn't a large supply of jobs for teenagers around here so I'm pretty much broke...

Yeah thats true the geforce fx cards from the 5800 series up have a serious noise problem. I have a friend who has a 5800 ultra and the damn thing gets so loud playing games it sounds like a blowdryer. Yeah its that loud. I can't even hear my 9700 in the case.
