America is the best country in the world when it comes to freedom and prosperity---for those who wish to indulge in them.

However, we do not compel a person to indulge in all that is good in America.

American does have its dark side we called them Liberals or left-wingers, they are the "fly-in-the-soup" the "Chicken littles" who see only the bad in every thing, and when they find something good, like flies in the soup they spoil it.

Apparently there is no cure for that leftist disease as is apparent from some of the posts on this tread.

Nevertheless, America is still and will be far into the future the best place to live!

So how about it, sleepy?

Care to comment on the questions that have been raised?
Or do you simply like to spew garbage that you can't substantiate?

It doesn't get better than America, what are you talking about, just look at these tremendous growth rate of these European countries.

Norway - .6%
Switzerland - -.5%
Denmark - 0%
Austria - .7%
Ireland - 1.4%
Belgium - 1.1%
Netherlands - -.7%
UK - 2.2%
France - .5%
Germany - -.1%
Finland - 1.9%
Sweeden - 1.7%
Italy - .4%
Spain - 2.4%
Greece - 4.7%
Portugal - -1.3%
Slovenia - 2.3%
Czech Rep - 2.9%
Hungary - 2.9%
Slovakia - 3.9%

Now, how can America compete with that? Maybe we should take some notes form these Europeaners on economics.

Yup, and talking about Europe... Finland have topped the global school table.

Finland tops global school table

actually, looking at that frontpage, i don't see the grand U.S.of.A anywhere in the top 5 subject results.

EDIT: and yes, i do understand you have the best university in the world, that being Harvard. this is a school table.

Regan is reborn in this little fella!

America is so great, huh? Like all the homeless, the slums, the poor and starving people, your great government debt, and so many people in debt with massive loans to repay. Not to mention crime rates in some Areas.

Also, you are a young nation, still to come of age really. Im not using this in an isulting manner, but the, (trying to be un-isulting) Immigrant American nation as such if not as well esablished, we went over there not long ago, and so your seeing your self as something of the 'young and motivated' type nation, unlike all the 'mature' nations about the rest of the world. You just need to stop being the teenage rebel without a cause in world politics, and try to fit in and work WITH the outer world instead of fear it. Alot of Americans do, but the headstrong keep on coming out and calling everyone a commie and evil. Europe isn't exactally the USSR reborn folks. And look at how American culture is breaking Britain. Damn it, I don't want Wal-Mart! Sorry Asda.
Reminds me of south park, something wal-mart this way comes.

Ah, Lefties are bad huh? Care to back that up? So, fighting for the rights of the average Joe on the street is bad? Without lefties there would be no minimum wage, no regulations on anything. Your boss could pay you 1 and no-one would care.

Also, American beer sucks. You need to rectify this please!

Im not completely anti-American here, so you know, I admire your cars from the 80's back, (Your modern stuf sucks, IMO
) Rock/Metal music is good from over there, even if Iron Maiden are the best still (Saw them live, woo!).

Don't worry chap, you have plenty of left-wing duds here who agree with you.

The Mickey Moron (Fahrenheit 911) and Eli Parasite (moveOn.dumb), who will do all they can to make the USA a hellhole for everyone.

The left-wing is for the poor?

They create the poor.

What... Moore is a fool, and is not left wing. He is the biggest liar of them all, he got rich of Bush and should thank him for it. He is a Capitalist through and through.

Create poor? No, capitalists do that, left wingers want equality of wages. Then you all get the same. So, where is the poor exactally?

Go to any country that forbids or restricts Capitalism like China, India, Africa and many more and you have poverty out the ass.

Capitalism creates opportunities for everyone. Capitalism is the Golden Goose, the money tree, that puts food on the table for millions of people.

Without Capitalism there is no freedom, democracy or prosperity----only Socialism and communism.

America has some poor, but this is a free country----you can choose to live under a bridge and not work, no responsibility to tie them down, a lot like Socialism.

How smart are the lefties, they sent millions of dollars to Eli Parasite, founder of MoveOn.com so that he can live the rich life like those Capitalist he claims to despise.

For 2008 he will sell you Liberals the Brooklyn Bridge, just remember there is only one bridge----so be the first in line to buy it!

It's no wonder millions are facing starvation around the world under left-wing regimes, the leaders are idiots---or is it the followers?

Um, what? So capitalism, which lets one company dominate, and rewards you for making money in any way you can, and punishes those who are not from a higher class backround, and rewards the rich with tax breaks, and taxes the poor so they stand no chance, is good. Riiight oh fella.

Is this actually a joke?

And Communism has worked 100% on small scale communes that hte US government in their wisdom called evil and shut down, despite the people living on them had happy, great lives, living a dream, living independantly, happily, but they were of course branded evil. Most of them commited suicide after they were stopped. Yeah, you gotta love America! Lets go and enforce our views on all!

The American way of life is like building a sky scraper on shed foundations; Its gonna collapse. Your pushing it to far, it does not create opportunity, noyl a brainwashed mass. Why do you think America is great? Seeing some of the propaganda you guys have on TV, I feel sorry for you beleiving it! I still love to have a laugh at the adverts making the USSR out to be a highly advanced superpower menace! Some of the recent election ones were brilliant. But we get it over here, we just gotta ignore it all.

And Communism has NEVER been properly practiced when ruling a country. Ever. The USSR, China, Vietnam, N.Korea, Cuba, all use it as a banner, but fail to practice it.

Cuba isn't to bad at the moment, considering all the American goverments have done to try to ruin their country. Limiting trade, limiting any aid, but it still goes, and the people their aren't to bad. Yes, its not a great life, but considering, it takes a storng will to put up with that. For that I admire them, but for the fact that its not practacing the ideals, well, its a shame. It would be a great example if the next leader could follow communism to the book. It would be a ray of hope for the world.

Wow, hang on. Are you saying its better to be free and starving on the street than oppressed with a house and food? I think at the moment there are several many Iraqi's that would care to Disagree!

Girbil,

It's sad that people like you who have never been to American have to believe the Left-wing propaganda.

Capitalism by the book would be even more fantastic than it already is---anything by the book or in theory is usually much better than in practice.

All those communes you talked about, mostly in California fell apart on their own---no one wanted to do the work---they all expected some one else to do the cooking, the gardening, the labor to make the commune work---when no one has to work---no one works---thats why pure Communism wont work.

The Communism that is out there is like slavery, people have no freedom and they are forced to work.

Are you for real? Is this what you people in Europe really think? What the hell are they teaching you guys over there? This is about the most ignorant statement I've ever read on this site.

I though that in an advanced capitalist system, one larger comany in every economic sector would emerge and take over. This is starting to happen is msot markets. You have Wal-Mart, Microsoft, GM and Ford, so really it is showing these signs. You also have alot of poor people who can barely afford to pay their taxes, which is a shame. There are plenty of Rich people over there too who are quite free to da as they please.

America was great, now it has gone to far. De-regulation is bad. There is a thing as to much freedom as well.

I can understand the American Dream, I know what you mean, it is just the fact the in Today's America, alot of bad stuff is also happening. The good old America where anyone could live out their dreams is sadly gone. The America we know and loved is now in hte grip of Bush-ism.

LostSailor,

Gerbil is a good example of the lost souls gobbled up by the Left-wing machine and may be beyond all hope.

Many if not most Europeans have bought into that crap "hook line and sinker" they truly believe that Americans are no better off than Third World Countries.

Hollywood, Michael Moron, and Eli Parasite have blinded the world to reality.

The Europeans love to hear stories about how bad Americans have it---it takes their minds off on how bad Europeans have it---they are stuck with Socialism and can't get out of it!

OFG! It's not as if Jolly ole England has 17% of its population living below the poverty line and America only 12%. OUr unemployment rate is much lower than most of Europe as well as the number of people under the poverty line.
America can't compete with Finaland's education system? So what, Harvard, Rice, Stanford, MIT aren't as good as I once thought they were? Since when did the Fins send a probe to Mars?

Look at the population of these countries, the diversity of people that live there. How can you compare ANY country to the U.S.? Let alone comparing Finland to the U.S.? Thats what bugs the hell out of me. To those of you that don't live in the U.S. and think you know what its like... well you DON"T know what it's like. Quit pretending that you do.

In that case surely you cannot slag of other countries if you have'nt lived there. How do you know the US is bettr if you have never lived abroad?

The US used to be great in my opinion, but now it is getting less so.

I also nevre said the UK was great, we are curently rather overpopulated with what we can cope with, but nothing is, as always, being done to rectify this. Great old democracy thing we got going where none of the main two parties really differ at all in what htey actually do. Unlike other countries that have a choice. Ugh...

But yeah, in my opinion, based on what I have learned, the US was better under Clinton but Bushey has sucessfully managed the economy badly, got the federal reserve in debt, and gone to war with two countries spending billions which could have been spent on his Country, but instead seem to have been spent on angering the Terrorists furthur. Unfortunately, a war on terror can not be fought in traditional war terms. Hence, invading other countries achieves little. You need to not announce your coming and send in special forces fast. Don't tell anyone, just do it. Then after it happens go public.

The US is obviously nowhere near thrid world conditions, come on, its an advanced western nation. We aren't stuck with Socialism; Us Brits have New Labour, aka Conservatism. Lets Privatise and mess up the rail system! Whee! And fail to properly Re-Invest.

Im not saying the US is all bad here people, im jsut trying to point out to you that you can't beleive all the stuff tehy feed you with. You DO actually have problems like the rest of the world! There are also better places to live with a better quality of life. Its jsut the US is the most powerfull nation around, and so is assumed by many to be the best place on earth. If your government stopped trying to fix other countries and fixed its own, like Clinton tried to, you could be better, alot better.

Michael Moore is an idiot. He got rich off Bush, and is now one of those so-called wealthy people getting tax breaks he slagged off. He is probably now a fan of Bush, even is Bush doesn't like him. Bush made him millions.

If America stopped helping other countries the world would go down the proverbial tube.

Like sheep most countries watch helplessly or indifferently as the wolves (tyrants) of this world infiltrate and destroy weak nations, mostly in Africa, the Middle East and South America.

The Left wants each country to mind their own business while they do their dirty work, thats why anytime the US gets involved they throw a world wide tantrum---believing that if they can get enough people to believe their lies the people will rise up and stop America from acting.

Many leaders around the world tried to influence the US presidential election, wishing to put into office one of their own, some one docile, who would look the other way while dirty deeds could be played out. They lost the election and will try again to get their Liberal puppet in office in 2008.

The best thing about America is that we change our leaders on a regular basis.

Look at the rest of the world and the UN----the leaders move in and stay until they die----look at Cuba.

Western Europe is not much better, than Eastern Europe.

Look at Putin, tolerates Capitalism only when it suits him----then takes over private companies when they are ripe with success and profitable.

Once a lefty always a lefty----why work hard to create when you can watch others do the work then take it away when it's done----they like to call it wealth redistribution, I call it outright theft.
